Per John Garcia Jr on with Brent Axe, he is transferring from Iowa to Syracuse.
John's hometown of Newton, PA is just west of Scranton, PA, less than 2 hours from the SU campus for a motivated driver.

SU is showing some signs of recovery recruiting Eastern Pennsylvania, an area that has been historically important to the Orangemen during the many years SU has been an Eastern power. In addition to Raymon, they also have Austin Wilson, one of the top QBs in the state on board in this class. Wilson is from Enola, just outside of Harrisburg, in southeastern PA.

You are so right Tom. I like what Marrone has done repairing relationships in the northeast. This year, football recruiting has taken a step forward in my opinion. Everyone they have has other BCS offers. That wasn't the case in the past. We know it takes time to build something, but I really believe Marrone is.

Right premise, wrong location. Pretty sure "CR" stands for Council Rock, which is a large school district in Bucks County.

What could possibly be the premise of the waiver? Unless there is a family member that he needs to take care of? Article on Scout said that he didn't get along with one of the new coaches at Iowa. I'd imagine the NCAA would say "tough $#!^" to that.

He left Iowa in early October, never played, injured and had home issues. A waiver is not outside the question, but it's 50/50 at best.

You are correct. He played for Council Rock, for coach Cochilla, in Newtown, PA which is Bucks county. But Newton or Newtown it is just great the recruits that are coming out of PA.

Fantastic news...does anyone know what kind of injury he had? I'd love to see the pipeline to PA get better and this young man looks like he has a lot of natural ability which is always a good starting block.

Jason Emerich out of New Ringgold is also Eastern PA.

You are correct. Garcia got the name of where Raymon is from wrong. It isn't Newton, PA; it is Newtown, PA. Newton is just west of Scranton. Newtown is a few miles west of Trenton, right across the Delaware River from it, just northeast of Philadelphia.

Good to see us gaining recruiting momentum in Eastern PA. It is a really good sign for the future of the program.

Yep, Eastern PA and Philly has always been good to us.
