Honestly, the bridge concept is one of those things I would expect on the front page April 1st. (I don't know if they do that sort of thing anymore because of the current conspiracy rubes who have trouble deciphering a joke from reality)

I'm not sure I understand how they would drive up property taxes?

I'm not sure either unless the logic is that these sites will get some kind of PILOT. I think it's more that they're worried about the people that will be occupying these apts because they will be subsidized.

With each scenario, there will be huge disruptions until it is finished. Doesn't really matter what option we are talking about but this bridge thing might be the worst. In any case, traffic from 81 footprint going north from the city will decrease while the build is happening. The grid will probably happen a little sooner than if they rebuilt the raised highway which would be a benefit Destiny over the raised highway. However, given retail trends, I don't see how Destiny survives more than 5-10 years. So their opinion should carry little weight to a project that will affect the decades after its completion.

Don't worry, the new phase will be here momentarily, indoor canal and waterpark and roller coaster, casino, monorail, rocket ships and 700,000 sf of retail space. $80k/year jobs for everyone!

Actually Micron to me means they should plan to add extra lanes on the the 481 loop...at the the very minimum all the overpasses should be built extra wide with lane expansion in mind. If 100K+ new residents arrive over the next decade or two...the road will need to be expanded.

I-90 needs to become toll free for local commuters from exits 34A to 39. It also should be widened now!


The super bridge is stupid...it destroys to many historic buildings.

My dream roads to be built

1. From Bville an expressway from there to Webster using US 104

2. A limited access road from northern Cicero over to the new road in #1.

3. Finally planning should commence to build a western bypass from I-81 to I -90.

Very valuable land. I can re-imagine tearing some of it down. Still major retail but also more market rate apartments and extended stay lodging too

It would probably be different if you were coming all the way down 31 through Cicero, but I feel like once you get off 81, turn left and get across route 11, it's clear sailing from there.

Right. But none of that changes which plan to select (bridge, tunnel, raised highway, sunken highway). I agree that with Micron, it will have some impact on many roads but not the overall plan selected.

It would probably be different if you were coming all the way down 31 through Cicero, but I feel like once you get off 81, turn left and get across route 11, it's clear sailing from there.

I think adding a new exit north of the Rte 31 Cicero exit to enter the new micron area more from the north would help.
