If they're going to do this at all, they should have opted for a gondola system with larger cars. I believe these will be eight-passenger cars.
One of the reasons Personal Rapid Transit never caught on is because people don't like to be in an intimate space with strangers. Subway car, yes; small gondola car, no. The effect will probably be amplified in August, maybe more so considering the creepy hooligans known to attend the Fair.
Anyone here ever people-watch on the midway and think "Hey, I'd like to spend 10 minutes in a metal box suspended above 690 with that guy"?
I'll opt for the long walk instead. Hope the paving of the parking lot comes with a few tree plantings (and some maintenance and watering).
