My mother who will be 101 years old next month saw Nat King Cole there with my father back in the 50's.

Fascinating, had no idea. Back in HS we used to jump off one of the bridges near there on the Oneida. I don't recall which one, but we used to call it "Schroeppel's Bridge" and it was a steel-deck with an overhead truss, thing used to vibrate and wobble when cars crossed it.

Drove by the Micron site yesterday morning and it looks like most of the trees on the southwest corner of Caughdenoy road are already cleared. Doesn't look like they'll have a problem getting the site cleared in the next two months.

Drove by again yesterday. The site is completely cleared except for the elderly woman’s house.

First big stage of chopping trees before the bats come back looks like it’s on time. Ground is pretty frozen so it made cutting trees easier. Next step is to hope for a little thaw to start removing stumps. Rail spur has been approved. Construction of that will allow for fill to come in to site via railroad and a conveyor belt system. Trucks can’t possibly meet that demand alone.

Schroppel's is upstream from the Three Rivers bridge pictured, several miles in distance. It no longer exists as you described it. It was replaced in the early 80's by a modern two lane structure. Although illegal even back in the day, people often did jump from the old bridge.

My mom worked there before I was born. It's hard to believe it was something that well known at one time.

Three Rivers Inn closed as a night club featuring headliners prior, unsure of closing date, and in 1973 burned to total loss.

Three Rivers Inn reopened briefly, in a location north of its original site, but never achieved the success it had and closed at that location after a short period.

Not that I am aware of, but things might move faster now that Micron site prep has actually begun.

Lack of infrastructure for public water and sewage, would probably limit/impede such developement.

My parents were Sammy’s guest at a dinner and show because they had lent their new car to Sammy’s record company rep (family friend) to drive Sammy around while he was in town.

I know Sammy had to deal with all kinds of BS in Las Vegas with not being allowed in certain hotels and restaurants. Fortunately Sinatra and others fiercely defended him. Hopefully that wasn't the case in Syracuse.

My mother and father often went there when dating. She saw many stars there but said the most talented of them all was Sammy Davis Jr. She said he could do everything sing, dance, do impersonations, and was a great drummer, trumpet,xylophone (vibraphone) and piano player. She said he was the best performer and was worth more than twice the price you ever paid to see him.

My parents live in Phoenix/Lysander and have acreage. They get calls and texts constantly with lowball offers to buy it they didn't ask for. Sometimes I even get them they just call anybody they can associated with the land. I haven't lived there since 2004.

The other day I told them if they ever feel like accepting an offer I'll always offer $1 more.

Town of Schroeppel has been expanding their public water & sewer the past few years. I would imagine there will be some housing developments in the Pennellville area as well as northern Onondaga county.

There is no public water or sewage in most of Schroeppel. A proposal for water was floated a few years ago and voted down Nearest public water is in Phoenix.
