DL Cooper Dawson transferring to Charleston Southern

Not sure, so far he seems to add FB chops to the writing over there. I don't think Stephen played the game too much. I'm enjoying his takes. If I was writing the take... I'd be more diplomatic. Maybe say "some feel Coach X is too abrasive and doesn't work for some current and past players and recruits"...just my 2 cents

It's just one-sided gossip, some of it admittedly second hand from a person who is now a 247 employee who appears to be trying hard to come off as a disgruntled ex-employee on the Syracuse staff. He should stick to focusing on being a recruiting/football analyst and not spread rumors. That kind of stuff as we've seen in this thread quickly starts to take on a life of it's own, it doesn't endear writers to the staff, it doesn't encourage the staff to give access, and it certainly isn't going to help with his employment in coaching if he has any hope of that in the future. You think any coach in the country wants someone on staff that, if they have a bad experience, has a previous documented history of going on blast publicly? So much is just not desirable in that thread that it overweighs any valuable analysis/player commentary that was made. I hope for and expect better or I won't be subscribing there much longer.

Exactly. Well put.

Give it a chance...young guy. Hopefully he'll figure it out. I want that site to succeed.
More subscribers -->better recruit ratings--->helps get other recruits. YES, it is BS but it is also reality.

FWIW, I sit about 20 feet from the bench the Dline sits on, and I have seen and heard coach Reynolds coach them up throughout the past couple of ‘fans allowed”seasons. While he can be fiery at times, I would say he is one of the more low key defensive coaches, at least on game day.

I want the site to succeed as well but I don't see how you expect your site to have better staff access when one of your first steps out the door is hiring a former team employee on staff who within days of writing for the site is putting out one-sided gossip bashing the staff amongst other less than desirable comments - it's not a good look and imo not good judgement. Even if it is 1000% accurate, I get journalistic integrity but you have to use common sense as well.

I agree...hopefully he learns. Let's see how he does the next 2 months.
I do enjoy Bailey's articles.

He is an intern there I believe so it wouldn’t be hard to let him go.

Cooper ends up at App state Coastal Vandy...

Is it possible for the staff to give less access?

In trying to check if McKinley Williams dad ever tipped his hand about him returning, I discovered he has posted a few times about Vin Reynolds. His personality and style was why Bear picked Cuse. Take it FWIW.
His posts also seemed to suggest Bear wouldn’t be back cause he kept mentioning 2022 recruiting and that he wouldn’t touch it till bear is graduated or left Cuse

what's weird is two of the veterans on DL have opted in for another year. Yet they DL coach is not well liked? That just seems odd to me.

That's why I never buy into any of this stuff. Everyone has a story to tell, but it's not everyone's story.

Right, wrong or indifferent, if you don’t think that things said at practice would be construed as offensive on the street, well, you’re wrong.

This is not unique in any way, shape or form.

Is it right? Not for my taste, but, it’s also used as a tool to find things out about people.

A lot of people on this board have been to big-time college/NFL practices, played at that level or coached. It’s far more common than not.

The point being, no coach is getting fired for being “abrasive”. As a matter of fact, some are paid to be just that.

The warrior language that is constantly used for football is unreal. Nothing about football is a battle, it's a game and I love it but let's not forget that their are soldiers out there right now actually risking their lives.
I think something can be a “battle” without suggesting a military conflict. But understand what you’re saying.

I agree with the sentiment as well. I’m not a big fan of using the term war for a football game. But feel battle is different. One can “battle a cold”, not getting bored is “half the battle” etc

This is literally VIP. People are paying money for you to just gift it to people for free
I never got that argument. If I buy the NY Times, then put on this website what I read, no one would think twice, and it's the same thing. Once I read, I can tell anyone I want about it.

I totally agree. I mean this is football and it’s not a passive sport by no means. I have heard Macs old tirades to coaches and players alike and it wasn’t pretty. It’s football. Kills me

Happens quite often in a lot of sports, men and women's a like for the most part. Some can take it some can't. I doubt Gino Auriemma is running a tea party at UCONN

And I am with many here, it isn't for me but I quit playing sports in HS as well

Maybe for you, but when I get a cold, I go to WAR, pure and simple.
