DL Cooper Dawson transferring to Charleston Southern

I never got that argument. If I buy the NY Times, then put on this website what I read, no one would think twice, and it's the same thing. Once I read, I can tell anyone I want about it.
I'm not a lawyer, but I see lots of ads for law firms on tv. I think there's some nuance to your scenario. You are free to read a NYT article and tell people about it(i.e. paraphrasing). I don't think you're allowed to copy and paste an online article on another site. I think there's some copyright "stuff" involved. My guess is it's in small print somewhere on the website.

I've been to South Carolina (i'm from CNY) and I can only imagine the total shock of that change. Wish this guy nothing but good luck!

Just curious, what is the biggest difference? I've only been to Myrtle Beach once, so not familiar with South Carolina, other than what's obvious. Would love to hear about this

It's just one-sided gossip, some of it admittedly second hand from a person who is now a 247 employee who appears to be trying hard to come off as a disgruntled ex-employee on the Syracuse staff. He should stick to focusing on being a recruiting/football analyst and not spread rumors. That kind of stuff as we've seen in this thread quickly starts to take on a life of it's own, it doesn't endear writers to the staff, it doesn't encourage the staff to give access, and it certainly isn't going to help with his employment in coaching if he has any hope of that in the future. You think any coach in the country wants someone on staff that, if they have a bad experience, has a previous documented history of going on blast publicly? So much is just not desirable in that thread that it overweighs any valuable analysis/player commentary that was made. I hope for and expect better or I won't be subscribing there much longer.
Honestly, I think what he has to say helps with some missing pieces from observations that were just not adding up. imo there seems to have been a culture problem the last couple years inside the program. From conversations i've had, and things I see like this, I always got the impression the staff may not be as endeared as some staffs are. That's not really a bad thing. Staffs and players don't always have to have the relationships, maybe someone like Shafer had, but you do have to have their respect.

With the 3-3-5, it looks like we are targeting DEs who are in the 270-280 range. Cooper would have to really transform his body to get to that size. He seems naturally thin; I think his forte is quickness and agility.

Another guy who doesn’t fit the new scheme really well. Can’t see him in a mullet at Coastal, chewing tobacco and getting multiple tats, but you never know...
Now Tom, everybody who moves to SC doesn't turn into a peckerwood.

SC is still real South. North Carolina is a lot different. Many NC areas like Cary and Pinehurst are about 50% fron the NE or MW. Charlotte is a banking center with many transplanted Wall Streeters.
South Carolina's fastest growing SMSA is Myrtle Beach with 400,000 residents and 15 million visitors. About 9,500 businesses of which 4,500 have fewer than 4 employees. Lots of snowbirds.
NC is a purple state while SC is solid red.
College is a real bargain in SC. Coastal Carolina is an up and comer. Beautiful campus 40 minutes from the beach.
Lived in NC for about 17 years and now in North Myrtle Beach for the last 3 (I'm old!).

As a combat veteran: using military type images and words doesn't bother me. Can the use go over the top? Sure, but I think most can make the distinction. Just my 2 cents. Carry on. :p
Same here Mark. It’s used in and out of military times and not a big deal, to me anyway.

From the Southern Tier but now in Iowa. High School buddy took his golf school in Myrtle so we go there early March every year for a golf trip. Always hit or miss on the weather during that time...but we always have a blast. Pretty much every year I see a couple people wearing something Cuse or someone say Go Cuse to me wearing mine.

Literally happens to me most days I have logo wear on. Lots of snowbirds down here also.

I really liked Myrtle Beach. Great place for a CNYer who wants to winter there and summer in NY. You can get top dollar for your condo in MB in the summer.

I have a family friend who was a school teacher (think stereotype of cheap)...she would always winter in MB and get a oceanview condo for cheap, cheap.

I questioned his commitment to excel at a P5...so moving to FCS will be good for him

Good luck and he'll be a lot closer to his buddy.
It is a huge commitment to play college football at the P5 level. Especially if you are not blessed with freakish size and athletic ability.

Trying to play in a pandemic 600 miles from your family just makes it harder.

Hope he does well at Charleston Southern. I will always root for him. Does anyone know if he has to grow a mullet to play there? ;)

Not too sure how much his hair has changed since this pic, but i'm thinking growing will not be required, jut a pair of scissors. :)
