or is that the sacrifice Dino makes to brighten the light on 2018?

Dino seems loyal (to a fault) to his guys but at some point you have to cut the cord?

If we stick with the T2 as a defense as Dino’s preferred then yes. I️ wonder if they shift after 2 years in the ACC.

Dino left the door open to staff changes in his quotes after the game.

Yes we keep him.
Defense made some huge improvements in the early party of the season and kept us in some games.
Injuries caught up at the safety spots and DE needed a little more depth.
We went t having safeties that could cover and help with the run to guys that had concert shoes and looked lost.
Just a heads up the Tampa 2 is the base defense and moved out of it a bunch this year.
I feel he did a good job with dialing up more blitzes this year and working in a bunch of new guys. Sure last 2 and 1/2 weeks sucked big time due to what I already talked about.

I'll trust the judgment of those in the know who said our defense was playing badly banged up - in addition to the second-teamers who couldn't fill the shoes of the original starters.

Thing is, these guys all seem like a package deal, a cult. Dino apparently sought out this whacky defensive scheme thinking it was most compatible with his fast offense. Notice there hasn't been much fast talk lately and the T2 has given up more chunk plays than any aggressive blitzing scheme. There are plenty of coaches running high tempo systems in the country and still using attacking defensive schemes.

I actually do believe there will be staff changes. And didn’t Dino hire Ward after one season at EIU? He’ll make changes if he thinks he needs to.

It was after year one at BGSU, replaced McCloud who was DC at EIU and year one at BGSU.

Unless you believe depth and injuries were the problem, then no. However, it isn't up to me to make that decision.

He cant can monroe because he can recruit but can he coach.

I think anyone feeling we should get rid of anyone at this point is nuts. They played their hearts out for a large part of the year and seemed tired towards the end. One of the hardest schedules I have ever seen a team have to deal with in a long time

Who would we get that is better?

there were a number of coaches that have done very well this year after having previously bad seasons. mich st, not to frost at ucf, and others. we do not have the depth yet but what bothers me most is that lack of tackling skills, and mental toughness. a team cannot just quit because they lose their quarterback. thats what i have seen.
what also bothers me is how potential recruits look at our collapse.
finally, dome renovation. not many schools dance around an issue of renovation and make a total public display of incompetence that we have done re this issue. we do not take this program seriously enough. we continue to demonstrate procrastination which also sends a message.
simply, i would extend dino now, which would make some statement about our commitment.
dino has a lot of soul searching to do about how things are done and i have not been a fan of the speed offense, but he will figure it all out.
, marrone still is my favorite, but i'm betting dino will come through.
thanks to the team for weathering a very tough year. hope we improve
next year.good luck to the seniors.

None of that matters when you're 4-4.
It kinda does matter.

Losing both safeties to injury and having hurt corners matters, not having 2 starting DE's on the field all season matters to a defense.

I wouldn't want to be judged on my sales performance and only having a working computer for 2/3 of the month because IT can't get their stuff together.
