Dungey stiff arm

Ehhh I think it was blown out of proportion. The first incident on the sidelines if you watch the Western Michigan player actually puts his helmet between him and Dungey and if Eric didn't raise his hands like he did then he probably would of had them jam directly into the helmet which could be a potentially dangerous situation. It's hard to see and you have to watch close. But you can definitely see the guy try and use his helmet as a shield instead of getting out of the way. He could have easily injured Dungey doing that.

And the 2nd incident it was clear he was just trying to help the tackler up and end up falling backwards. We run hurry up and Eric helps defenders get to their feet when they stay down longer to slow our hurry up. I didn't think he deserved to get flag. Yes his actions started the ordeal because Western Michigan thought he was trying to throw the tacker to the ground but a player shouldn't be flagged for helping a player up and falling. Regards misjudged that situation.
I didn't even think the sideline thing was hard to see. I was annoyed the commentators failed to mention the guy raising his helmet despite showing the replay numerous times.

Dungey absolutely deserved a flag on that. Come on. If you dont see that, there is no hope of having a rational conersation on here.

Im not chastising Dungey or calling him dirty, but thats a 100% deserving of a flag and it was a meat head play. There is no debating it. I am saying this for a 3rd time to prove I still love Dungey and i only want him to tone it down 1 small notch - I, personally, used to play like Dungey especially in basketball (emotionally like him not athletically like him)

The guy raised his helmet in an instinctive defensive motion to slow down dungey. Look at the guys shocked face when he realizes that dungey just 2 hand shoved him completely out of nowhere.

Please take a second and take the orange glasses off. Its ok to say that should have been flagged. And i promise you it will be flagged if there is a next time.

Yes it was a defensive motion but it also could have injured Dungey. There is a reason the NFL and NCAA are going away from helmet hits. That is similar except the guy was wearing it. Dude gave no attempt to move out of way and just used his helmet to shield of Eric. Not saying what Dungey did wasn't flag worthy but let's not act like the other guy was completely innocent and just standing there.

Where did I say he shouldn't been flagged? I thought it could have gone either way and would not have surprised if he got one. He acted like a hothead and needs to have better composure. To ignore that the other guy deserves some responsibility is willful ignorance.

You're probably right, but once SB responded with the grassy knoll and Dr. B added the magic loogie, it was all over.

So it's OK to shove a helmet into a player coming out of bounds who is unable to stop? The acceptable move is to get out of the way, or grab the player with both arms and slow him down. The WMU guy was acting like a punk because he knew Dungey was single handedly beating his team.

My bad. I must have misinterpreted the “I didn’t even think the sideline thing was hard to see”

I assumed you meant it was a clear no call. I guess I still don’t reqlly understand what you meant by it.

I was saying that it was clear the WMU player made no attempt to move and raised his helmet into Dungey's chest/face. It was obvious on the first replay and the commentators made no mention of it.

You have got to be kidding me.

what? it was a regular run of the mill tackle. he wasnt faking an injury. there was no reason to 2 hand grab him and pick him up. How many times have you ever seen that in a college game? Think about it.

I just see it different. He didnt realize Dungey was coming at him until it was too late. he barely raised his helmet in defensive fashion. I dont know why the commentators would mention it. They talked abotu the refs missing the flag. Which IMO is correct.

I remember Pasqualoni trying to explain R.J. Anderson's shaky play by saying that he plays quarterback like a linebacker.

Dungey plays quarterback like a like a linebacker sometimes. Doesn't seem like a positive thing from where I sit. Not everyone here agrees with that.

Back to that stiff arm, it was AWESOME.

As for everything else, much ado about nothing at this point. Eric plays how he plays. He’s smart enough to know that he’ll have to reel it in at times, and I’m sure he’s being told that as well.

Nothing to do with your overall point.

You put two words next to each other that simply should never be next to each other. Pretty sure it's in the English rule book.

Only this board could take an awesome stiff arm from our QB and turn it into this turd of a thread

Anybody got a clip of that nasty stiff arm? That was awesome! Thanks in advance!
