Dungey.....

It was reported that he had a rubber pellet lodged in his eye, and had played a few snaps with it before being pulled. He was treated with an eye treatment at halftime that required dialating his pupil, which causes the blurriness, and light sensitivity, hence the "blurred vision", and inability to play the second half.
If you've ever had your eyes diallated, it makes sense. You can't see for crap for hours.
Can he put a visor on his helmet then?

RBs used to put visors on their helmets to prevent getting their vision impaired.

I watched the first quarter so far on DVR and Dungey appears to have injured his right elbow on a throw at the 13:33 mark. Immediately after releasing the ball he grabs his throwing elbow, jumps in the air in pain, and goes to the bench. He was simply throwing the ball and was not hit by a FSU defender.

I believe Dino’s answer to the media but something is definitely wrong with Dungey elbow.

I wonder if having a bad shoulder can cause you to throw differently and putting more stress on the elbow? Docs?

Definitely, you don’t have to be a Dr to figure that one out chief.

It would make sense if he was okay with it. Alot of guys don’t like them though. I had one for one game, it came off on the second drive. Would never wear one again.

Why? Does it limit your field of vision? Glare?

its not arm strength, its foot work. he often hurries his throws and that causes some floaters. the throw to Custis was great, the first drive throw to Pierce I think wide open was a hurry and floated and was way off.

They fog. When they get wet, if you don’t have the right finish on them they can smear and blur. Taking the time to deal with something like that takes away dfrom what you should be doing. I had to wipe mine off twice on the first drive and I was just done with it already.

Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I didn’t have trouble with glare, but it was an overcast afternoon. Could very well.

He’s certainly got the arm strength. Accuracy is something else, tough to place balls when you’re almost always on the move. When he sets and delivers, he’s fine.

I’ve stood next to him as he rifled balls, as have others. Arm strength is absolutely there.
I was referring more to the accuracy. Stand and deliver he's pretty good. He seems to not allow that to happen much though. He seems too anxious to start scrambling when his first read isn't there.

I do agree, I think it would benefit him if he was just a touch more patient.

In his defense, he ran for his life constantly for the majority of his first 3 years.

I don't know if that sidearm stuff is because of the arm injury or if it's causing the arm injury. But I'd bet it's one or the other.

He was a little reckless yesterday, but nothing different than we're used to. A couple times where he just went in shoulder first for a couple more yards instead of sliding. But like I said above, sliding might be worse for him if he's being targeted.

There was one play that he was stopped short and I wondered what happened to the hurdle. DB was clearly going low.

That is the greatest cover story ever!!

Simply fantastic.

You most certainly pull that one out for your SR QB team Captain.

They’re starting to get it up there!

I think he short armed that throw. I believe the sideline reported herad Dino tell Eric to stop doing that, and follow through. Something like that. Bad habit maybe?

I don't think it's rocket science to determine that Dungey hurt his shoulder in the EMU game and has been dealing with it since and it looks like a bigger injury than most have thought. The eye deal seems to be a one off as he was cleared to play almost immediately but cooler heads prevailed and he was treated as such

I say sit the kid the next two as the shoulder looks to be causing some serious pain and come back ready for Pitt as best as he can. The chances of being anything but 4-1 heading into Pitt are pretty slim. I expect UCONN game to be a bit closer than many as it will be Edsall's Super Bowl and his only chance to take out Millhouse's favorite dance moves all year.

We beat Clemson I will but the beer at the next FineMess tailgate and do it with a GD smile on my face, only caveat I buy and drink only mass produced domestic lawn mowing beer, no triple hopped chocolate bock pale ale that is brewed with ginseng and imported dog poop, sorry. Labatt's and Molson only exeptions

Good lord man, you want to take a knee at Clemson?

love that new bud light commercial where they torture the guy who asks if it's autumnal

I watched the game on TV. The doctor actually checked ED and apparently cleared him because he jumped up and put his helmet back on and stood next to HCDB for the last series of the first half.

ED didn't come out for the 2nd half because of blurring vision due to getting poked in the eye. I hope he doesn't have a detached retina.

There's no need to hope, since there's no way on earth he has anything close to that. I've had a torn/detached retina resulting from blunt trauma, and I can tell you it is extremely painful, needing almost immediate laser surgery to mitigate the damage and keep your eye from losing any vision permanently.

If he had anything of the sort, we all would have witnessed the extreme pain he would've been in. Most likely, a scratched cornea, which is very commonplace. It's very irritating, and can cause blurred vision, but also, it's very short lived.

My grill blew in my face about 10 years ago. Knocked me back 10 yards onto my butt. Singed my hair & eyebrows. Actually, got up & felt fine 5 minutes later. Wife forced me to see an eye specialist because I had blurred vision in one eye. Doctor put an ointment of sorts into both eyes & then pulled small metal filings out of both. I couldn’t see anything for about 6 hours, probably longer.
Remind me to keep you away from the grill if we ever tailgate together. ;)

Devito has one on his.

It could certainly cause you to throw from a different arm position or in a different range of motion, affecting everything down the kinetic chain.

I thought the report the sideline reporter had was interesting when she overheard Dino tell him, "Remember how that hurt when you did it like that before. Don't do it again."
