I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt. But I've heard from people I trust, with inside sources, that he hasn't yet been cleared.

Line went from 24 to off-the-board, something is changin...

Because someone close to the program, who is a day to day observer, has said that as of right now he still hasn't been cleared.

If he had even the most minor concussion, he won't/shouldn't play Saturday.

Also, if lying I hope the poster is banned.

If that is true, he will not play. It would go against the protocol. Again, assuming your source is well-informed.

He doesn't know. He tweeted later saying it was tongue in cheek.

what a stupid original tweet.

I am NOT an axe hater. I actually like him, but thats just stupid. And not funny.

However it plays out with Dungey, the team needs a crowd of rabid SU fans in the seats more this week than they'll need anytime this season. With the great team LSU is bringing to the dome, our guys need all the advantage fans can contribute.

so 3rd hand?

Thanks for getting our hopes up....

He hasn't been cleared, but he hasn't been ruled out. Seems they're taking all the necessary precautions.

Carry on.

Gee, Shafer just said Dungey is "pretty doubtful" so I guess my 3rd hand sources knew what they were talking about.

no need to get fresh, but having a friend who has an inside source just seems a bit grapevine-ish.

If he has a concussion, he is likely to sit. If he doesn't he will play. If he plays he will execute the playbook. There is no 100% involved in this decision. Either he has a concussion or he doesn't.
kid get knocked out for a second, struggles in pain, tries to get up...COLLAPSES back down, does anyone really think he didn't sustain a concussion?

This is where medicine is an inexact science and as much art as science with so much nuance with respect to testing, differing levels of how patients recover, etc., so even if he is passing the concussion protocols testing his brain knows it's been traumatized and hasn't healed fully.

If he's cleared to play it's really.....not a good thing in any way shape or form. Any dr. that clears him given the FACTS of the case and situation, despite testing this week, would appropriately be looked at as questionable (and before anyone who doesn't know me question why I say this I've been teaching Neuroanatomy/Neurophysiology/Neuroscience for 25 years now as a college prof., have played the sport and sustained some head trauma, etc. so know personally and professionally of this issue).

My source is about as well informed as you could be.

It comes from someone close to the team. I just don't want to say who, because I don't want to cause trouble for the person letting the info slip. I understand it sounds grapevine-ish, believe me. I'm also not one to take a hard stance about something unless I have info I firmly believe in.

i'm still upset about shamarko thomas getting obvious concussions and staying in the game.

if we're going to watch this barbaric disgusting sport the least we can do is err on the side of extreme caution on something that looks pretty obvious to everyone

As much as Jek has given accurate information in the past, I can't believe some of you guys are doubting him. (Yes, Whitey, we all know your thoughts on RW).
Ugh, we don't need to get back into that crap. Ha.

Apparently they aren't practicing today, according to Someone Who Would Know.

Do they normally practice on Mondays? That is interesting.
