well the 71% was not particularly helpful in the md game. that said i put this loss on the coaching staff--not on devito. babers and co. were clueless as to who were, and who maryland was.

you assume they didnt know what was coming was more than the other issues they had.. Almost every run was defended pretty well except for positioning. the coverage issues I have no idea if was bad prep or mistakes, but the PC seemed to imply guys made mistakes.

as for the offense once was started chasing a deficit the game plan went out the window..

Home cooking is gonna do this team a load of good. Devito is a gunslinger ala Favre and is gonna win us a lot of games. This game will b a good one. Clemson does not like playing at the Dome. It can be uncomfortable if we can withstand first quarter punches.

This team just needs a little bit MO. Saturday is gonna be a 31-28 ish game. I’ll take a moral defeat knowing rest of games will be easier than maryland and Clemson

By his senior season we will be singing his praises.

I think we all assumed we would just pick right up where we left off last season, that’s not going to happen. This team will still make a bowl game and is going to be VERY good in the next season or two

What's cool is that when Devito is a Senior we will have Clemson at Home with a new QB. Great chance to beat them.

if you're not putting it on devito, why downplay his completion percentage?

perhaps people didnt know who maryland was and the coaches did... I seem to recall 95% of this board thinking maryland was an easy win and we had better athletes..

Yet we were 22-27 with him as a starter.

A lot of those losses occurred when he was injured. That one year we didn’t win another game when he was injured.

I’m still in shock at what I witnessed defensively though. That felt like what we saw in the Lamar Jackson Louisville days where we just had no prayer at stopping them.

Honestly thought we were passed that and that our defense would be solid and at least be able to compete and get some stops against anyone.
