ESPN new streaming service in the fall. Anyone know if this will include ACCN???

The new all-inclusive ESPN App debuts tomorrow. This is for streamers who do not have a cable/satellite/streaming service. I believe it will be $29.99 a month. No contract. Keep it as long as you need them cancel it. It will include all ESPN channels, including ACC Network. I'm not sure about ACCNX but it might. It might also include ESPN+. Check it out.

Yes, this is different than the existing ESPN+ plan.

That is dumb to launch it well into the football season (I assume some glitch is causing them to delay the launch). After reading up on it, it seems like a great option to have access to the majority of games.

I think its just an effort to get people hooked on one of the products and then get frustrated by not having access to the OTHER product and then subbing to the bundle. I study the streaming market pretty consistently and the bundle launching process still makes my head spin when it comes to timing and price. On the surface it seems simple but when you dig into the financials, it definitely seems like you want to encourage early churn to then draw people back in on the bundle.

I know this gets discussed in various threads every year but I want to know the best options for NCAA football streaming. I have an antenna on my house for the local channels so really we are talking about getting the ESPN channels, ACC Network, etc... In the past, I usually just did Sling TV Orange & Blue Package plus the Sports Extra add-on. With my daughter single handily trying to put me in the poor house (car, insurance, new dance school) plus a myriad of other expenses, I am trying to be a bit more budget conscious this year when it comes to watching college football (not watching at all is not an option - 1st world problems we have).

I can just get the Sling Orange package which will give me the ESPN channels (but no ACC network) for about $45 (not bad). They also have a weekend only pass (Fri-Sunday) for $15 which would be the cheapest but I'd be limited with the games I could watch. Looks like if I want everything, I'm in the at least $80/month range. How are you watching this year?

Per the article on the ESPN.com website, the new app (ESPN Unlimited Plan) includes ACCNX.

The biggest questions is will the APP suck less? Gave up long ago watching things on the ESPN app when possible to watch much of it on the HULU/DISNEY app which were much more stable.

IT will also be interesting to see if the new APP locks down PWD sharing since Disney announced they were cracking down on that soon.

The old app had device # limits as well. Lets see if that happens more now.

I've never had a problem with the ESPN app. Either on my phone or on my TV (via Roku or Smart TV). I've watched a lot of lacrosse and basketball games on ESPN+ on the same app.

Also remember the APP is different TV to TV in how well it functions. Smart TV versions being much worse than stand alone versions which have more memory. Google TV/Fire TV being worse than Roku TVs by far

Yeah. Before I had a smart TV I used a Fire TV stick and had some problems with it. I found a Roku more reliable and the remote more reliable.

Things were better for sports fans when non sports consumers subsidized our interests. Now I’m still paying for cable and a bunch of other streaming things, subsidizing other stuff. The cable bundle was remarkable efficient for consumers when everyone used it. But cord cutting ruined the fun and we’re going to all end up paying more when it’s said and done. As more folks cut, the streaming services will keep increasing prices to be profitable on standalone basis.

Doesn’t YouTube tv have all of those? You should be able to login using those credentials to get ACCNx

Thank you. My further question is whether when someone with a cable/satellite/streaming (e.g. YTTV) plan and will get the new ESPN app for free will, it include ESPN+? I believe it will otherwise be all the ESPN channels. I believe some new contract agreements ESPN has made with some cable distributors includes ESPN+ with certain cable "tiers". I haven't had a chance to research that.
