Extend Dino

Don't throw good money after bad. Give Dino a shot at back-to-back winning seasons and go from there. On paper, we have a good team returning and I like both our coordinators. If he does well, give him a reasonable three-year extension with a low buyout. If he does poorly, you have more money to bring in a new Power-5 (will it be 4 now?) head coach with better recruiting history.

Question. How do you know what team we have returning. It is a new world out there. We don't know that anyone is returning. Transfer portal world. NIL world. We are still at the end of the COVID extended years also. I think next years team is still a big question mark. Winning today, and then hopefully winning a bowl game will help to keep players in the fold.

I’m 100% in on an extension
I’m 100% in on a termination too if direction change is needed

Just need to do something otherwise the operation starts next year under the hottest of hot seats

I expect to see two coaches move on and another half dozen kids portal.

These are different days and some of our better players have been getting feelers for months from other programs.

How we respond in the portal will go a long way towards getting to seven again next year.

The schedule is not daunting next year - no reason to not start quickly again.

We will be basically rebuilding a poor and underachieving OL with a ? At QB. Also, how will the run game evolve with a committee of backs without Tucker.

Can we hold on to Gadsen? With Jones back healthy we really just need to find one or two more contributors at wide out.

The D will see some personnel change but so many guys play on that side already, and did well, I think we will still be ok there - just need some experienced size up front (portal God's).

Expect to see off season additions to strength and conditioning, nutrition, recovery - the school is hearing it from players, parents, and some staff - in a couple different sports. It's also become another hurdle in recruiting.

They had a near perfect off-season this past year and need to do so again.

Long story short, buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I don’t particularly like this new era of college sports. Although you do have an opportunity to turn things around quickly nowadays if you know how to play the game. But the opposite is true too.

I don’t think winning today or winning a bowl game will have any impact on whether a guy stays or not.
Just doesn’t work like that anymore.

I won't commit to anything because from my end it is just some smoke. He is clearly an attractive talent that can help can help a lot of programs, and in today's day and age, there is always the risk.

I would think he enjoys being the main guy here, knows he will get targets here, and got recognition for his play here.

He also comes from a better situation than a lot of other kids, so the sway and influence from outside offers may not be as enticing. His father appears to be a guy who keeps his son focused on the big picture.

Any insight on how we are we looking on the portal additions front? IMO, we need some beef up front on both sides and could use a WR.
