Honestly, this take that the invitational was the worst thing for the team isn't it (and I am not trying to single you out personally, I've seen it a bunch). In the first 5 halves we clearly weren't wildly out talented by any stretch. We were however forced to watch a team be completely set up to fail by an outmatched coaching staff.This invitational was the worst thing possible for our team. We were not ready nor talented enough at this stage to compete. Especially with Donnie going out.
The Houston game built confidence and then Kansas and Iowa State smacked us back down to reality.
I do still have hope that we make the tourney. We play a lot of winnable games after this barrage of attacks we just took. I think we will hopefully improve and learn lessons from these games going forward.
It's not a coincidence that everyone seems to regress when they come to this program now, there is one constant and it ain't the players. Its not like we were playing 2012 Kentucky or some team like that this week, we were playing decent teams, teams we COULD hang with talent wise, and per usual we come out with 0 wins.
