I can’t cheer against SU and there is no need to. The inevitable WtheF loses and blowouts will come and Red will finally get bounced. JW and the BOT will have their mulligan. I hope for my sake they hit a home run with the next hire. I am so indifferent to SU sports and college sports in general these days. I long for the days when I use to look forward to the games and nothing short of birth or death would stop me from watching.

I haven't, nor can I ever stop "loving" SU sports, and bball in particular. I'm just...

It is a tough situation for the people who don’t believe Red is currently a good coach at this level. I can never cheer for Syracuse to lose games but I can also recognize that we desperately need a new coach and a new vision for the way we do things on the basketball side of things. In the day and age of the portal a high level P4 job isn’t a place where you can learn to be a head coach. There is no more wait 5 years etc. The portal is win now era. Currently Red has proven he can’t coach at this level YET and needed to do what Gerry did and drop down and learn. So now we are at the point where what is best for the current team and current coaching staff is probably not best for the Syracuse basketball long term health

This is exactly how many of us feel. Torn. I’m rooting for Cuse to win and to make the tourney, but I believe more and more that Red isn’t the man for the job. Syracuse deserves a coach that can compete for conference and national titles and needs to go out and find that guy. So unless Red magically starts coaching good offense in the next couple of weeks and can get the guys to play even harder on the defensive end, I think he’s a goner. But I still have to root for Cuse to win every game.

Tony Bennett plays the most boring offense and style of play imaginable. He runs a slow paced offense and tries to stifle teams on defense. He had been regressing for several years because it was hard to recruit kids to play such a slow tempo style. Look at the wonders Ryan Odom has done with that program in year 1. Besides, Bennett is never coming back to college basketball.

Well put by both of you. I feel the same way. I would expect everyone here to be able to understand that, but it appears not. Going to be a strange few months.

We brought Red back. He brought in good talent. I like the players on our team. If it ends outside the tournament for 3rd straight year under him, it’s time to move on. But give him a chance to play the season out. We’ve had one bad loss and one big win. You all make it sound like we’re below .500 again

This is correct. We have way more talent than Clemson but Red was severely outcoached.
