It's not over if Donnie comes back right away, and can play. If he can't, we're done.
We had 5 guys score in double figures, despite our PG drawing a zero and being under the weather.
We out rebounded them by 8, after being behind early. We had 9 blocks and 5 steals.
But they smoked us from outside, and we missed enough FT's to provide the margin of victory.

Better go 14-4 in ACC play if that happens. The fans are fed up.

Exactly they don't seem to understand sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Pretty basic concept. SU waits until they have no choice ie investment in football over the last couple decades always playing catch up. Now they will have to pay to get a coach to set reset the hoops program when that should have been already.

Just go game by game the amount of money they're losing. I'll be generous and say an average ticket costs $30. Multiply that by about 20k fans that would have normally been there and those dollars add up real quick.

Bulldog, I know you’re friends with the staff. It must be hard to watch your friends fail at their job. I’m sure they’re good guys, they’re just not elite level coaches. They’re in over their heads. Sorry when they get fired but they all need to find lower level jobs in line with their capabilities. Not everyone can coach at the highest level.

At this point, I don't need to be told no tournament again. That's my operating assumption. Hopefully, if all goes well, we're a tournament team in the 2027-28 season and can begin to build a strong program from the ground up.

I know he has some things well including facility upgrades. But he is amazingly popular considering how many major coaching staff decisions have blown up on him.

There was no reason to bring him back to start this season. It was beyond apparent he didn't have the makings of a head coach. He was hired because he was an alum and kept a year too long for the same reason. It's absolute garbage and has further tarnished a great program. Say what you want to about Boeheim, but he built this program and I can accept a few down years to end his run. There was no good excuse to bring Autry back and now the program is even further behind. It's sad.

I’ve seen enough, loved Red as a player, hate him as a coach. There is no hope until he is gone and it can’t come soon enough.

It seems obvious that we are likely living through the final year of Red's tenure. JW was pretty specific on expectations this year.

I just hope that fans will focus on coaching without resorting to personal attacks on Red. At the end of the day, he is one of our all-time great guards and bleeds Orange more than any of us. He will always be Orange and always be one of us.

I hope that something clicks for this team but it is getting hard to see it happening. This isn't SU football, where having a 10-win season in your pocket allows you to have an historically bad season and blame it on the loss of one player.

With a lot of luck, Donnie comes back strong and we miraculously make a turnaround. It would be great if it happens, but the likelihood seems somewhere between low and very low.

I want Bruce Pearl to revive the orange. The timing is critical since the next round of realignment will happen by the end of the decade.

We need Wildhack to leverage the absolute trainwreck the BOT members and boosters who tied his hands with JB and then Red created in order to start shifting the management culture at Syracuse. We’ve seen three types of ADs in the last 40 years:

1) Solid ADs who somehow dealt with getting fed crap sandwiches from the BOT and administration so that the level of success we still had at times is remarkable (Jake, Wildhack)
2) Snake oil salesmen clownshows who know how desperate Syracuse is, and manage to leverage that into millions of dollars in his pocket before the scam is publicly revealed (Gross)
3). Talented guy who realizes quickly what a crap show Syracuse is culturally, doesn’t want to stick around in #1, and bails as fast as possible (Coyle).

If Wildhack gets fired, the Syracuse job will be toxic - a definitionally career-limiting position. Prepare for a lot of frustration as we cycle through people who fit in #2. We won’t even be able to sucker anyone that fits into #3 into taking the job for 11 months again.

Red needs to go - but the folks angry at Wildhack and that want him gone are totally clueless.

I agree with you on this being a Kenny Payne situation (as I’ve said countless times Syracuse needs to take the Louisville approach), but not sure about Pearl.

Dude, he retired. He’s not coaching again. Same with Jay Wright and Tony Bennett. Their names shouldn’t even enter your head.

We will end up hiring an up and coming coach like LVille and many others and done. We’re moving forwards, not backwards to a retired coach.
