Fire Autry

It's so depressing.

Some of you probably have teenagers that don't know good Syracuse basketball.

We had a lucky run in 2016. There are people in their 20s who don't know good Syracuse basketball.

The fans were never going to have any say on the hire. It was always Red because JB wanted his guy. JB really screwed us with how long he stayed. The slide started with him and this hire was influenced by him.

I understand that, but the entire picture including the JB slide was made possible by enabling fans. Duke, Kentucky, etc would never permit the last decade to happen.

The thing I do not understand is the failure of Autry to look at this holistically. If he was never a coach, Autry would forever be a positive memory for Cuse fans with an impervious legacy. Fans were willing to give him some time as a coach, and even with initial failures the first 2 seasons that wouldn't have done anything negative in that regard. Now? It's over. He has seen the things that has cost this team wins, and still steadfastly refuses to make a single adjustment. There is still no offense, there is still no consistent defensive effort. Why? Why would you willingly do that to your legacy? Everything you needed to improve and adjust was right before your eyes and could have been fixed.

Now it's too late. And it's incredibly sad that someone who is part of the annals of this program's history will forever be remembered like this. And it was avoidable.

I could care less about Red’s legacy. He was given a golden opportunity and failed. He also got paid millions of dollars for his failure.

He was a good PG at Syracuse, but he’s not one of all time greats. He tried and failed, it is what it is.

Autry shouldn't have made it to this season to be honest. It was clear as day over the first two seasons he wasn't a good coach. This decision dragged the program through another down year and we probably wasted a tournament talented team. I never would miss a second of a game. I honestly don't care if I watch anymore. This is pathetic.

It was clear in the LeMoyne game last year. Was that the first game of the season? I stopped watching after the Georgetown game mid-December. It was clear as day by then.
