Just a guess... Jarveon Howard is going to have one of those sneaky big second halves.

I'm not sure why, but I don't see it happening. I'm not usually a betting man, but I'm willing to give you 3 to 1 odds.

I actually think white knuckling with a "keep it close and take our shot in the 4th" mindset is a recipe for disaster.

You want the idea of winning to be far out of range for Florida State so they get that sick to the stomach feeling that it's happening again.

Having them hang around won't do that. But some big plays and scores/turnovers that get doubt to creep in and start fights on the sideline... that's the ticket.

White knuckling against a team like FSU will never work as you noted. We tried this sort of in 2017, we outplayed FSU and were the better team but made dumb mistakes, penalties and gave up 2 long TD' s and that was that. FSU with their athletes is inevitable going to hit a few big plays and probably a TD or 2. The problem this year is that I am not sure the current team has the ability offensively to get up multiple scores with our lack of passing game. FSU is going to jam everyone in the box and dare us to do something about it.
