Very true, although to be fair there is nothing that he said that was not correct. The hard metrics are what they are, they are fairly grim, and the soft metrics can be massaged in whatever manner one wants to massage them in Dino's favor. I'm sure that the AD has conveyed to Dino exactly which metrics matter to him and that is all that matters. The wildcard, of course, is the contract buyout.

We have had two chances in the past two weeks to make it all moot but have not gotten the job done. That is on us, and by "us" I mean the team and by obvious extension, Dino. Let's take care of Pitt so that we can focus on a bowl victory and not Dino's status. To use a basketball metaphor, when you have three shots in the closing seconds to win the game, your fate is in your own hands. You have to make one of those shots. It only has to be a 2-pointer, but you have to make one of them. Let's make one against Pitt. A dunk would be even better but I'm not greedy.
