For those are already to move on from Red

Maliq leaving had zero to do with quadir if anything Taylor leaving would have had more effect. I’d say majority of athletes fall in the barely eligible.
As somebody who has worked with student athletes at a few different institutions, including SU and WVU which has a special reputation on this board, my experience is that this could not be farther from the truth.

Dang. Will we ever return to the old days, or are the best days of Syracuse basketball behind us?
Unfortunately they probably are behind us for the foreseeable future. During the height of the Big East SU and the other BE schools were at the pinnacle of college basketball. Those SU teams were stacked with Talent and Jim was in his prime.
Anyone of those teams would absolutely destroy any team of Syracuse team from 2015 to current. Flat out destroyed.

We rollin baby

I started having this thought 7 or so years ago, when the calls for JB to retire started really picking up...

I fear Syracuse post JB will be Georgetown post JT: occasionally good, mostly mediocre, generally irrelevant.

Eddie mentioned his back hurt from the back-to-back games and... long bus rides.
But with that said... driving makes sense ~250 miles and less.
Pittsburgh and College Park, MD, are 350+ miles. For that, it's unacceptable. Especially when I see other programs in the airport all the time.

No, its because he was a very good booster that supported multiple SU teams with men's basketball, the one that is riding the bus his favorite. Its possible that a meeting, breaking bread ɓetween the three of them might patch things up and bring him back supporting SU athletes. Syracuse Athletics doesn't have the luxury of not trying to mend a fence with a former booster that loves the program, supported the program and personally is being slighted because of the negative dynamics that exist between the Chancellor and his good friend the former HOF coach.
I'm not sure how much he "loved" the program.

aren't guys making 6 figures? They should give them the option of spending their own money and taking a flight to boston, nyc or wherever.

world's smallest violen for SUAD, college sports, and the new underwrite.

I honestly hope they're fung wah by 2026. Maybe it'll open someone's eyes finally. I mean will the field hockey team hitchhike in a few years. How on earth does the no revenue sports do it now?

I'm just going to put on the record that I don't think Red should be fired after this season unless we are in single digit wins. (I don't think we'll be in single digit wins)

I know some dork down the line will say I've been calling for it since he was named coach.

to be frank, this is stupid.

i take the university's side over the trash/recycle guy with his broken feelings. He's not even an alum. If he went to the school he may not have taken his ball and ran to SUNY Albany or wherever he went. Steve Barnes and other big boosters seem to be able to play well in the sand box.

Don't capitulate Sveryud

This whole thread is sobering. Totally penny wise and pound foolish. If money is going to become that tight in the new world, then like any business the AD should review every sports program, support the bare minimum for Title IX purposes and cut the ones that do not significantly enhance the important programs. Cross subsidization is a luxury and SU does not have Big 10 or SEC money. To short change the basketball program that can be an attendance leader year in and year out / cash cow when successful makes no sense. I mean seriously…driving to Maryland and Pittsburgh. Those bus trips are an unnecessary self inflicted wound to the program (and I have driven those trips a lot in my life….those single lane construction stretches in PA make you want to loose your mind as you sit there wondering if you are going ever move.)

We aren't driving to Maryland. We play Maryland in NY

I said it a couple days ago, people don’t realize how far behind this program is when it comes to these things. A huge donor yesterday told me “NIL or die” and the main focus is getting players and spending money on them. Unfortunately this is reality when spending goes elsewhere. Melo center becoming outdated. Workout equipment outdated. I’m currently working with my brother to get them treadmills from this decade. So when people go nuts about Red and the coaching, I look at how much the program is lacking and the loudest complainers are usually the cheapest. Welcome to the NIL world
Because a lot of our fan base are re tards who dont actually know stuff like this and scream from their couches like they are coaching their own fantasy team. It drives me crazy

One, I don't know. Two, I don't care. I would imagine it was the best bus we could get. But so what? To me, it would be like having the very best trailer in the trailer park.

No 22 year old should have back issues due to busses. That’s a weak excuse by him.
Lampkin is obese. Anyone working in the healthcare field can tell you that obese people have issues with their backs due to the physics of the situation. Throw in the fact he plays a dynamic sport like hoops, and the extra weight puts enormous stress on feet, backs, and knees.
