I would not and do not pay for what the Dome has to offer. It is embarrasingly bad.
I emailed Wildhack during bball season and included a complaint about concessions. I got a prompt and thoughtful response but regarding concessions he said, “The Dome and concessions are independent of athletics.” He did identify changes he would like. It sounds like he reads this board.Imagine if they had edible food, as if someone cared about preparing it. It's not even as good as bad dining hall food. You literally can't eat at a game without getting sick.
Building a fanbase...but I think a dollar night like the Syr Mets would be best.I get the lower pricing thing may increase sales. But how does free help? The only way that makes money is if the food cost is lower than the ticket cost.

Bottom line: We should all email the Chancellor and the BOT. I will send mine tomorrow.
Uh oh, hey John, what's with Red? Just do it, man.He does read this board
Pour it in my hand for a dimeWell, the FOOD is free, but if you want a container for your nachos, you'd better be willing to pay up!![]()
Only thing worse is the suite food, absolute garbageI don’t want or expect free concessions at the Dawn. Honestly, I tailgate before every football game, and by the time I get to the dome, I am full and have no interest in buying food. I usually buy a bottle of water, and that is all I need.
For basketball, with no tailgating, it’s a different story. It would be really nice to be able to buy something relatively tasty and nutritious and get a decent warm meal before game.
I have been to virtually every ACC venue and I can say without equivocation, the JMA Dome has the worst concessions in the ACC. It isn’t even close. The menu is extremely limited, and the quality is very poor.
To be fair, the grab and go set up that the dome has is very good, and most ACC facilities are not set up to get food as easily as you can here. so props to whoever set that up.
But again, the selection is extremely limited, the quality is low, and the fact is, that Dome often runs out of food before the game ends. And if this happens, stands are apparently not restocked until the next game.
Things are bad on the lower level, and atrocious on the upper level, here much of what is available on the lower level can never be purchased.
Things are unacceptable and must improve.

Agree 100%, I think people would be more inclined to go if they had some better choices. I get that the university makes money off of it, but it’s gross. Get a Dino BBq stand, Tully’s Pavones pizza, heids and take a cutI hate that Syracuse continues to accept the horrible food choices.
Everytime I get a survey I comment on how awful the food concessions are. Its almost like whoever reads the surveys for the concessions is not reading them/does not care about the feedback.
I think you could almost argue that they think people are complaining just to complain.
However, people are not. We deserve better. As sutomcat said, we have the worst concessions in the ACC at football/basketball and quite frankly it is not even close.
this points to athletics not making money off the food.

It's not at all, Athletics has a contract with a concessionaire, it has nothing to do with JW.this is also a bullsh$t way to pass the blame by JW
Local vendors have to license their intellectual property to concessionaires and teach them how to make their items. Generally the juice isn't worth the squeeze for either party.Like many things on the Hill, it's insular. Have to keep the money circle tight. It's insane we don't local vendors inside. I would be more apt to buy if it was Tullys, Dino, etc.

If it was that easy, they'd do it. I promise you, it's not. And SU has graduates that work for Aramark too. There are too many limitations that make it almost impossible to succeed there.oh i fully understand the contract
the dome operates as it's own entity
athletics is the only reason it exists
AD/Dome/SU need to work together and not point a finger

I want the Dome to be more like airports. There's a Tully's, but for a noon kick, you can get pancakes until 10:30am.Local vendors have to license their intellectual property to concessionaires and teach them how to make their items. Generally the juice isn't worth the squeeze for either party.
