Looks like indications were -6 but the first bets brought it to -4.5. Wow. Thought it would be -1.5

If my memory is right, and it's usually not, a bad FSU team blew us out down there last time. They still have tons of individual talent.
Yup. HRE Otto IV mentions it in the “FSU prediction” thread

Cam Akers ran all over the Brian Ward Swiss cheese D that day. Our D is a bit better now. They’ll need to take advantage of a pretty bad FSU offense. We always struggle at the Doak tho, so who knows.

We just have to watch the Jacksonville State film…

They rank 77th in O and 94th in D through four weeks

Their O has been similar to ours

This game could be similar to the Rutgers game

It’s actually why I don’t agree with a lot of people saying TD needs to start. Teams loaded the box since last year with TD in the game. The only people that think TD is scary as a passer is this board. People have complained that the running game can’t get going and pressure off TD b/c defenses are always loading the box.

So why does it matter that GS plays, they’re going to load the box no matter who the QB is. GS gives us a chance to win when the box is loaded and we saw that Friday.

Yep never like playing down there even in years like this one. I am old enough to remember playing down there in the 90s with Quadry Ishmael and a bunch of other talented guys on a very good team, and still getting smoked like 40-14.

I don’t have high hopes for this weekend, but then again maybe this team is different as I completely did not expect a goal line stand and subsequent strip and victory this past weekend. I hope to find myself surprised again.

That goal line stand was very very impressive. That’s a series the defense doesn’t likely stop in 15 years. Especially with Liberty’s QB, he and their offense was feeling it at that point, our D was gassed. Everything was against the D not folding. A ton of mental toughness.

but Ohio/Albany/Rutgers didnt load the box this yr.

Wait…. Albany didn’t load the box? You don’t say…..

Ohio lost, of course they didn’t load the box that often. They’re a weak team that tried to do a little of everything to stop us.

Rutgers put a lot of pressure on TD whether they loaded the box or not. Liberty did the same thing, pressuring GS most of the game.

Quadry did have a great kickoff return for a touchdown in that game.

TD didnt play vs Liberty which is the pt of the discussion.

I don't think anybody thinks Tommy is scary as a passer. I've seen a number of people claim that he is a better passer than Shredder though. From the small sample size this season, Garrett is scary as a passer, but not in the way that you were implying. I don't care who starts, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see both QBs, especially if SU is playing catch up.

Umm, no. It’s not the entire context of the discussion since part of the conversation revolves around whether TD should replace GS because FSU is going to pressure GS. The point is, TD has been pressured since last year. GS playing over TD doesn’t impact the ability for us to score since any QB we throw back there will face pressure.

The question is, which QB will be less negatively impacted by this.

it was 2019, Cuse got some garbage time TDs to make it respectable but it was a blowout, over by halftime

The D has to account for GS as a runner, with TD they don't. Go with GS and hope he doesn't get hurt
