FSU vs The ACC

Putting everything else aside about UCONN, why would the league want to add another Northeast school in an already weak recruiting region? UCONN doesn’t unlock Texas or Florida for the conference. All it does is make it harder for Syracuse and BC to recruit NE / NY which already isn’t a hot bed for recruiting.
Why wouldn’t the conference want to lock down the Northeast instead of letting another conference have a foothold?

I wonder if Jim had a few Irish Whiskeys last night:)

Everyone says this, but then why is there no discussion of Tulane?

They have been fantastic in football the last few years, better than many P4 and every G5 school, and they are never mentioned. It's because while football is a massive piece and probably the biggest, it's not the be all end all. UConn is a sports brand. Tulane is not.
Tulane is a niche player

LSU dominates Louisiana

If you want an academic first league they are a no brainer though

I like adding Southern and West Coast teams. Love Tulane but we need to some schools with huge alumi bases. Houston and San Diego State would be tops on my list

From our board. Could only happen to one other deserving team.

Why aren’t all of the 0-0 teams listed alphabetically? (Not that that ever helps Syracuse.) I wonder what the process was.
They should have been. It could be that the Tweeeter remembered them in that order.

Better. Now can we rank them by where their team color/colors fall on the color spectrum? ROY-G-BIV. That will help considerably.

I love how the SEC schools are laughing at FSU. FSU better hope the B1G presidents vote yes as they are not getting into the SEC. I doubt there is enough votes in the B1G.

It's not about revenue now. It's about what we do when FSU and Clemson leave. It seems like you're thinking the world in 2003 instead of 2033.
You start with the bolded sentence, but then every part of the post that follows is actually about revenue. The question is about whether or not adding UConn is profitable. It clearly is not, nor is it under a variety of "what if" market and realignment scenarios.

The Big 12 knows that it has to do something out of the box, or it is dead. This is sheer desperation, if the reporting is correct. I think the ACC and the Big 12 should merge and revive some logical regional divisions.

Yormark is a bit nuts but surely even he knows that UConn, because its football is 0 value, brings nothing to the Big 12. That means the only way I can accept that the Big 12 is serious about adding UConn is if Yormark expects the Big 12 to lose a number of more valuable football members, which then would lead to the Big 12 trying to rebrand as THE basketball league. If that is your plan, the UConn might even be necessary.

They are adding them for everything but football

Even if the Big 12 has the best bball league it still doesn't move the revenue formula vs adding good football schools.
You said the ACC was loaded for hoops … it isn’t, they is my point. Stop moving goal posts.

As does UConn. Losing $52MM a year is not sustainable, even for a state school. And that’s before Hurley’s new contract. Don’t understand football not joining until 2031 unless the B12 only took them by offering a greatly reduced or no payment until the new media rights deal is negotiated. Real roll of the dice by both sides.

When their tv contact ends I could see the acc taking a serval of their teams.
The best thing for Fox, ESPN, ACC, and BIG 12 would be combine ACC and BIG 12, add Oregon St, Washington St, Uconn, Memphis, USF maybe a couple of others.
Divide them into regional divisions, and go from there. You have all sports covered year round streaming.
You avoid most lawsuits, can work through title 9.
Transportation costs for schools goes down. Students have less travel time.

Give me a break. dont just go by a year. If you dont realize that year in year out the ACC is a great basketball conference im not sure you are being honest.

Why not keep them apart and have 4 vs 3 conferences? There’s 12 spots it’s fine to be third or fourth.
