Game 1 Depth Chart / Game Notes vs Ohio

I’ll either be saving space on the bandwagon or all alone up there puking over the side as we fire Dino lol

You are definitely "King of the Hedge" on SyracuseFan.com lol

Tucker yeah he has me a little fired up as does our depth at RB.
Love the new OL coach but why didn't we address this position a few years ago? Big mistake imo.
Young D should be zipping all over the field and I'm in love with the 3-3-5 for a long time.
Sure this all helps but I think it's the concept that if it's a poop show we are starting over.
That 10 win season but a taste back for success and after the beatings the last two years where we are pointing to another rebuild...
Oh, man. Never let bad decisions that might have been righted get to you. That problem is in AZ now.

(Honestly, I think we tried to fix it with Cav and it didn't pan out. That's a strike against Dino for sure.)

I hope the 5'4" part is not a typo!
This is the only available photo I could find of him.

Can I say I am excited to watch Williams punt, not that I want to see a lot of punts, but he is from the same small GA high school as my daughter.
I don't think people should ever get excited about seeing their own team punt, but since you have a connection to the player, I'll allow it this time.

I am a little concerned as we all are, I suspect, but soon as I see the first 3rd and 1 conversion with a run, I’ll be all in again.

In 2018 I feel like we didn't know what to expect from the team.

Dungey never played a full season, no proven WR (Custis had done nothing up to that point).
Defense had new LB's to break in (Guthrie, Williams, Armstrong) and unproven secondary.

This season is unlikely to produce a 10-win team but I feel there's a lot of similarities and questions going into the season.

2018 team was on the upswing
We are coming off two terrible seasons
Agreed that both teams have a lot of unknowns, 2018 had way more positive feel to it

2018 was following 2, 4-8 seasons. 2019 was 5-7. So by that standard 2018 was also coming off two terrible seasons.

Ya people were calling for Dungey to be replaced by the new savior, that continued most of the season.
Two good running backs
A couple BD's that everyone was high on.
A Big Incoming Transfer to lead what was a poor offensive line.

2019 was worse than those 4-8 seasons due to we just blew all the momentum we had built.
2020 might be one of our worst in a long time.
I do see your point that we did have to bad season before 2018 but they didn't have the same feel as 2019/20 was more my point.

I tend to disagree, cuse beat va tech is 2016 and Clemson in 2017 and then crapped the bed after. I could see why that was reason for hope, but more so it was disappointment for me, in not to capitalizing after. I see your point though.
2019 ended on an awesome wake forest win. Not defending 2020 at all, also I’m still bitter about that missed fumble recover against Pitt in 2019. That’s a win if called correctly.
Please take it easy on my grammar, lol. Was being harassed by my kids while typing.

Those two wins are the reason that gave me hope and I don't consider those seasons terrible.
2019 and 2020 basically didn't have those hopeful games, sure the Wake win was awesome but not a signature win we had in '16 and '17.
Anyway, we've had some awful seasons, hopefully, 2021 is good.

Agree I’m stillOptimistic for this year. I also think I forgot how strong the offense was those first two years under DB. Always felt like we have a punchers chance in games Bc we could score. Not so much last two years

UGA will be jealous and embarrassed not to offer the local kid.

I just want to see a win but I prefer we kick the _____ out of Ohio. That would make me feel really good.

But I don’t have a freaking clue what we’re going to see. I think we win but having Ohio play us tight the entire game will leave a lot of questions marks, potentially. First games are always tough to judge anything.

Since Marrone was here, I have zero idea what to expect any game at all. At least with Grob I knew what to expect. I could go to dinner, do stuff with friends, watch the kid I hire mow my lawn. I was never really “missing” the SU game. It was even more painful going to the dome and watching. Something to be said for knowing the outcome before you show up. Sort of.
