It probably doesn't matter at this point, but do we have any idea if and when Starling will be back?
A bad team losing it's top scorer is just impossible to overcome.
Doesn't seem like kids are taught how to play tough D in HS or AAU

That loss was on Red. Not subbing until under the last 2 minutes is unacceptable and it looks like he absolutely has no feel for in game coaching along with the lack of hustle and fundamentals shown by this team. Luckily the ACC stinks this year or it would be a 20 loss season.
You need to emphasize these kinds of kids during recruiting, if you want an effective man to man D.I suspect kids who are good defenders have that skill because they’re self motivated. Maybe some pick it up if they have an exceptional hs coach.
His post game interview was a masterclass in passing the buck.Chris Bell has been MIA all season.
Not just the defense either. Watching what UConn runs on offense then watching us is such a stark contrast it’s sad to see. It’s almost a different sportYeah, we're a tough watch. I watched Illinois/Tenn and then Gonzaga/UConn, and the level of effort doesn't even seem close. Other teams seem to be able sustain that little 2 minutes stretch of intense D we had in the second half for LONG stretches of time.
Every team has moments when they lag a bit - but for us, the outlier seems to be the high intensity moments.
It’s different program by program but there are many club teams that don’t practice together. Just play tourneysI don’t have any experience with AAU, but friends of mine who do say it’s largely roll-the-ball-out, little-to-no practice, controlled chaos.

He’s on the Westry plan I’m sure. We’ll see him for 3 minutes in the season closer.

I’m pretty sure one of the announcers in yesterday’s game said “January 1.” Which seems early, but What do I know. Considering he‘s going to have to be able to fall on it….It probably doesn't matter at this point, but do we have any idea if and when Starling will be back?

Please. Mookie was very entertaining.I’m embarrassingly on record as saying I thought Bell could have a Preston Shumpert-esque career progression. Instead he’s devolved into Mookie Jones.
They did say January 1st on the broadcastNot gonna happen that fast.
But he wasn’t brought to SU to be an adorable quasi walk-on. He was brought in to start and produce.Please. Mookie was very entertaining.

They were just relaying what the staff is hopingYeah, and the announcers can guarantee his recovery time, right?
They had inaccurate information. When asked after the game, Red said there was no timeline yet. They did say January 1st on the broadcast
Watching Red for the last 10 minutes not subbing was like watching Quint rock back and fourth in the Orca dragging a shark while smoke was coming out of the engine and hoping he'll make it to shore.
The National Anthem was great and then...This one's on Red.
