Pretty much any bowl not named "The Pinstripe Bowl" I would have been happy with. Good to get to a different region of the country and get some exposure.better than I thought and against a big 10 school too

Friday night at 6pm...horrible TV night, horrible TV time but whatever. It's a bowl and 15 extra practices which is really what is important

It's a great time slot for the "SU FAN" and the "MINNESOTA FAN"...but it won't get the casual football fan or a national audience flipping through the channels to stop and watch. Because its a Friday night at an awful time. Most people on a Friday night (especially after a holiday) are out and about on the town. Or since 2 days after Christmas traveling back home. Not watching TV in general.I agree about the pinstripe thing. Very glad we didnt get that again
I looove the date and time slot. Friday night nothing going on. After work. I see no negatives
Most people won't be out doing too much I think on that Friday Night.

Hell no. It's a great time in fact for a 6-6 team. No other bowl games at that time, nor other sports programming at that hour. People hunkering down during a holiday weekend. Major network. Pretty damn good I'd say. There's nothing horrible about a Friday night the week between Xmas and New Year's.
Hell to the yes!I think this worked out a lot better than I thought it would. I was viewing the idea of playing Marshall or North Texas as a necessary evil. As I said 6-6 teams, beggars not choosers. But I just hate the idea of playing a mid major in a bowl. Hate hate hate it.
We get a game between Christmas and New Year's, it's on a Friday night, team gets to go somewhere that (could very well be) warm, in a state of the art stadium. And we get to play a team from a power 5 conference???
Win win win win win. Excited.
