A solid college football headcoach...turned around the Rutgirls program. I prefer we pick a headcoach rather than taking a risk with an assistant with no head coaching experience.

When I said P5 assistant in another thread, many said they were fine with that.

That's what what we're likely getting.

I asked if we'd go there in the Montgomery thread.

YUCK.

Hes pretty much Shafer but with better recruiting and the ability to one win a game or two they probably shouldn't.. He was a terrible game day coach for Rutgers. That said the guy can recruit with anybody that is clear. I would say no but I don't think it would be a disaster hire

Schiano is a piece of shiite human being, who tries to injure his opponents' knees in the victory formation, among other character failings. I will abandon the football program if they hire that human waste product.

Oh he's not that bad. 68-67 at Rutgirls. Inherited a garbage program and made them relevant. If we want to go down this route, he's one of the available proven head coaches out there.

The fact that Schiano played a buttery soft non-conference schedule significantly inflated his W-L record.

First of all, he's never getting hired here.

Second of all, none of you are walking away from the program if he's hired. Listen to yourselves. I mean, if you can turn it off that easily?

Actually, as I look around any given Dome crowd, maybe I should take that comment back.

He is not. Give it a rest

schiano brought rutgers from tied with temple last in the big east to 1st-2nd in the big east and then helped them move to the big 10 because of their football.

You might not like him but when you look at the overall body of work he played a big part in all that.
He didn't have one great season but a couple. Not saying hes a good guy, or a candidate but he did a good job.
Big ten took them over Cincy or Temple.

I'll take Shiano. He took NJ away from pasqualoni. Can't be any worse than the garbage we've had since P was fired.

To quote Dana Carvey doing Bush 41: Na Ga Da.

If we are going to consider Schiano, how about Sandusky? (Of course, the two can't be equated, but character matters and Schiano flunks that test).

Schiano is a despicable human being.

His so-called success at Rutgers was based on a campaign of lies. take a program from awful to mediocre. Along the way he lost to Villanova (twice).

Schiano owes a lot of his success to a certain coach who liked to read Little Engine that Could. No way do I want him here. Scumbag guy
