Hey if it was up to me

Fair enough. When I hear today's landscape, I think of how drastically different our place in it is. Although we still have a seat at the table, so all isn't lost.

As for bowl rules, yes, and Coach P would have been to a bowl game in 13 of 14 seasons, instead of of 9 of 14 seasons. 93, 94, 00, 03 would have all ended with a bowl game.

To augment this point had we been playing with the rules P had to bowl eligibility wise (for most of his career), we would have essentially gone to 2 bowl games from 2001 to 2020.

That terrible spike attempt that was a fumble but because they blew the whistle dead it couldnt be reviewed. Oh ya, i think i remember that play. I was pissed.
Had it been the other way around, the refs would have ruled in ND's favor. I don't remember the whistle aspect, I thought they reviewed it and said he was spiking it, which was bogus.

Marrone won in a bad conference and didn't even win that big.

No thanks.

I just want the current coach to find guys who can catch. I don't blame him for the WR recruits busting he just has to move on from them and get transfers who can. I think the rest of the roster can win.

by the end of 2012, 4 years after Gerg, that team was playing at a top 15 level, which was remarkable considering where they started from

By that logic, the previous guy lost in a bad conference and lost big.

I don't think you can understate how he changed our level of play.

I believe he is going to be a top tier coach. Kent pays him $440,000. That leaves a lot of room for staff.

He’s Dino’s guy and won’t come here if Dino is fired. If Dino retired, he might.

I think this is right. But it’s def a sweet spot thing. Some want him to be in the top tier of guys who’ve coached here and I’m not sure that case can be made. But what he did to rebuild after Gerg is no small accomplishment

Not sure why but that play is vivid in my memory. Would have been a huge game changer.

The lie is that it was mostly SS recruits. It wasn't - it was like 85% Dino recruits. We think that way because of Eric. RB and linemen or two. Without those Dino recruits we don't win 10. Cisco, DE's etc

Every QB coach thinks they can "fix" throwing motion and it's good marketing/business plan to claim you can fix it.

I think there's a thread of truth in this post in that I think the Baylor O has gotten figured out a bit and needs to evolve. I'm not sure Dino is the guy to do that and neither is he since he turned it over to Sterlin. Which is *good* if you think he's a good CEO type.

Not sure what sort of math you are using for the declaration in your first sentence as its simply not true. I suggest people actually go look at the 2018 roster and the dates of commitment of those players before they argue this point or call something a lie.

In 2018, our leading Passer, Top 3 Rushers, and leading Receiver in were all SS recruits. 3 of the 5 starting OL were SS recruits. On defense, 5 guys that started during 2018 we're SS recruits. Also, our punter was a SS recruit (he also happens to be in the NFL).

My math tells me 6 SS recruits started on offense (7 if you count Neal when Strickland was hurt) and 5 guys started on defense. That seems higher than 15% to me. And this was in DB's 3rd year as head coach too so there weren't many guys left from the SS tenure.

Certainly, DB had to fill out the roster (or we wouldn't have had enough players) and many of his guys contributed too, including Robinson, Coleman, Cisco, Foster, Guthrie, and K. Martin to name a few.

Below are guys who I reference above as the SS recruits:

Offense - Dungey, Strickland, Neal, Custis, Conway, Roberts, Adams

Defense - Slayton, Whitner, Cordy, Bradshaw, Frederick

Special Teams - Hofrichter

By 2019 the roster had actually flipped over and the 2019, 2020 and all future years are actually HCDB's teams in from a player perspective without a doubt.

I'm a dino guy through and through. HOWEVER, if Dino were to leave or was fired (which i think is a long longshot in the next 24 months), i'd want a complete redo again. To go from Dino to his lieutenant could be Shafer 2.0. NO thank you.

Bring in a completely different group of coaches, philosophies, etc

Newsflash - The 2020 ACC only has 4 ranked teams and only two of them are on our schedule.

Three - ND, Clemson, UNC. The next two of the five receiving votes are NCSU and BC.

I'm not saying we should do it, but I love watching option football. Imagine if we brought the freeze option back, would be pretty cool
Is there a "boo" button??

Move on from one of two WR recruits sure. But at one point we had like 20 WR on the roster. He needs some blame for almost all of them busting

Just the difference in the two penn st games from yr to yr. The game in the dome with grob was downright embarrassing. We go from that to having a goal line stand in happy valley and looking respectable with Marrone

That Dome game was miserable - everything about it.

That's not true. The Penn State fumble on the 2nd play was good.

Yeah, then everything else was miserable.

4 plays into the game, there were two lost fumbles and a 55 yard TD.

More PSU fans than SU.

Disaster. Impressive tailgaiting on their part. I think they had a band playing at one of them.

The worst part of the dome game was joe pa literally laughing at SU on the sidelines. He and his program are despicable but when else have you ever seen that?

Schiano used to do it to Gerg all the time.

Then Marrone showed up and pecker slapped him in the first matchup in 2009.

I'm just glad JoePa was alive long enough to see his legacy crumble. Terrible person.
