Hodg GameDay: USF v. Charlotte, AAC Conference Semi 3pm

There’s a lot more to his system than playing fast. Rebounding and 50/50 balls are musts for him. And again he doesn’t have the best raw talent in that conference. Enis was a D2 player. He will find guys to fit his system.

Just like Boeheim did with the zone... It's just a much different system (and dare I say, a fun one to watch.)

His early family history, the foundation of what made him who he is today (his words).

Here's a quick overview. There is also a link in the article for more detail: Hodgson

As for helping you with the "off ball rainman abacus stuff" that might take a little more time...

OK, so CNY ties, survived the foster care system, & earned his way? Got it.

Yeah, if you can help wittle old me with the education on the oh so complicated abacus stuff, my wittle old self would greatly appreciate it.

The American is the 10th best conference in the country. He brought two starters from Arkansas St in Nelson and Pinion which plays in a conference comparable to the MAAC in the Sun Belt and still won that league. He definitely gets the best out of his players.

The AAC and MAAC are not comparable in terms of competitive level...

The buckets of competitiveness by conference fall in this general stratification:

Power - Big 12, ACC, BIG10, Big East, SEC (*PAC12, we'll see after reconstituted in 2026)

High Major - American, Mountain West, West Coast, A-10

Mid Major - MVC, Sun Belt, MAC, C-USA, WAC, Ivy

Low Major - ASUN, A-East, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, CAA, Horizon, MAAC, MEAC, NEC, OVC, Patriot, SoCon, Southland, SWAC, Summit

You misunderstood me. The MAAC and Sunbelt are comparable this year according to SRS.

Ok fair enough, how you worded it sounded like you had American and MAAC on competitive par...

In any given year you could argue that conference x isn't a low major this year and more a mid major, or vice a versa, as conference overall talent can be skued by the quality of the best teams in the conference in a given year... Siena are certainly cream of the crop in the MAAC this year and have the NIL to justify it.

Good luck to Baby Shark Hodgson aka BS Hodgson aka The Guppy aka Gupster. Let’s hope for a lot of sportsmanship!!
For all the little fish out there:

We agree.

Wonder why people saying they won't get an at large bid after winning the American regular season if they
lose in conference tournament final? The MAAC is known as one bid league.

A10 only has 2 teams in (depending on bracket predictor used)... Mid Major count at large has dropped since committee weighted net points higher is the short answer

The difference is coaching and being able to communicate the team's objective. We are doing this to get this person this shot. USF uses tons of analytics to see what defenders they should attack and which one of their players should be taking shots and where
We supposedly used analytics, we hired an assistant who did just that. You can’t just have the numbers you need to know how use them

MWC is also only getting one team this year.

The ACC being far better this year, hurt the available seeds for High/mid-majors. . In prior years, only 3 of the power conferences were good in OOC play. This year, all 4 power conferences did well in OOC play.
