Hopkins to handle post-game presser today

Meh, he should have faced the music, even if just to say "no comment" or "we don't discuss ongoing or potential litigation." I get it though, smug douche (usually justifiably so) doesnt play as well after you've been anally raped by the NCAA and your team crapped the bed this season.

I can't wait until Hop takes the reins.

Yes...because 10 consecutive "no comments" followed by an angry stalking off the stage ALWAYS helps in these kinds of situations.
After 40 years SU and its fans should know who they have as HC, and what triggers to avoid when needed. The media deserved nothing- they can go pound sand. It was a good move, & the right one.

Was driving home from Chattanooga late last night and Robin Lundberg on ESPN Radio commented on Hopkins doing Boeheims presser as saying "We'll I guess that's status quo at Syracuse to have someone do your work for you"... So if anyone wants to mess with that clown on Facebook or Twitter be my guest. Keep in mind this was during a segment on Kentucky, and we all know how ethical Cal is.

From this point forward the only individuals that we are going to hear from relative to the sanctions will be lawyers and written statements from the admin.

I agree with your assertion. I think it's also kinda sad that on one hand the University puts it's full faith and credit in a guy and on the other hand can't trust him to conduct himself properly.
If ultimately they are taking the NCAA to court on these issues, and from the university's position statements and other actions that is, I believe, what will be the case. Assuming the NCAA does not amend their findings voluntarily on appeal before such action is necessary. It would be foolish for JB to make any statements that subsequently might be cited in that case. This would be true for both JB or SU.
JB at least has grounds for a defamation suit against the NCAA given the university has issued a statement that fully supports him having no role in any violation, and their being no evidence or testimony suggesting he had any knowledge of the self reported issues until SU self reported.

And ... And ... at the hearing supposedly was not asked about any role he may have played with respect to what is alleged in the report. That my friends may be the biggest behind the scenes factor in getting penalties reduced.

I'd wager you wouldn't have gotten one question about Rak or the team.

For the record...it was not JBs call. He wanted to go out and answer questions.

Damn lawyers!

That is consistent with SU preparing to fire back at NCAA with a suit, if they were not even considering that possibility then there would be no reason to try and keep JB from saying whatever he pleased. SU wants nothing on record that might impact a possible suit going forward.

see i disagree here to an extent. if truly you believe that we've done nothing wrong as an institution and that the ncaa has truly over reached then i'd want JB on every sports show who'll host him this weekend pleading his case.

So it's been reported now that JB was 100% ordered not to attend the PC.

Suck on that, Axe and the people who keep insisting that he "should have shown up anyway."

Give me a freaking break.

That would be the case if you were fighting in the court of public opinion, but I believe the plan is to go to a higher court than that.
