Exactly. We did it too ourselves in the game but never should have been placed in that situation.

Yep. I feel more than a little ridiculous being so bitter about this, since we allowed an inferior team to play with us and potentially beat us. Worst-case, that should've been the Marius Janulis Iona game in 1998.
But a whole lot of things went against us, both in seeding/placement and officiating. (Fitting, though, that my thousandth post is about that awful loss that killed the 2003 era and dropped us into three years of actual mediocrity.)
