...and that they were missing Stojakovic, one of their top players, but DAMN was it nice to see us start strong [instead of being down 9-0 like seemingly every other game] and play from ahead the entire game.

We had some lapses and the ending was frustrating, where we struggled against their press. It was far from perfect, and Cal isn't a very good team.

But the win showed resiliency, after that lousy first half at Stanford.

Glad we got the "W."

Sounds simple but actually being ready to play when the game tips-off is important.

Whatever Red did pregame with the D drills got them focused and ready.

I think a big part of our problems has been the lackadaisical starts.

It's almost like we often start like an AAU shoot around team and have to work ourselves into upping our intensity as the game goes on... Then we miss some shots and intensity drops again.

Yup. It was the best all-around game from start to finish we have seen all season...by a mile. A lot of that was Cal. But, with the exception of the press "break," it was good to see this level of execution and intensity regardless of who we were playing.

Last night was one of the first games this year where there were parts of the game that it looked like there was a coherent gameplan. Still way too much ISO late in the game, but there were segments where we were making the extra pass and actually had a little bit of off ball movement.

We played at a high level and it was without question our best game. Felt like a Syracuse game of yesteryear. Let’s hope something carries forward and maybe it can snowball into something that catches fire.

The end of game iso’s with 3 guys standing in the opposite corner made no sense whatsoever.

We easily scored when the ball was moving then did that.
