would it have happened by now?

Are we looking at the same group of coaches next year under Dino?

I would think a couple of changes wold be made?

Ugh, shoot me.

This is the perfect time to hire a DC... So many head coaches switching teams and good head coaches being fired. This would be perfect for us to grab a former HC to be our DC or find a good DC from one of their staffs. It would be stupid if we retained Ward

You couldn't be more wrong.

Our D was very good for 9 games of the season and fell apart the last 3 because of injuries, not because of coaching.

Did you even watch any of the season, at all? Wow.

Funny If your Central Florida you don’t care about your d-coordinator but they gave up 55 points

Blaming the Tampa 2 is like blaming the 2-3 zone.

Lol, ok, so we won't blame a scheme thats played by 2 or 3 P5 teams, at most. A scheme that has set records on the wrong side.

How many D1 basketball teams play the 2-3 zone as their primary defense?

It's apples and oranges. Jimmy B set a standard ...started something different. Not a trend, bc no coaches followed. But yes, he was a pioneer. Are you saying we are gonna throw our chips into DINO and being this sane pioneer? DARE YOU...

Our DL can't generate a pass rush, and our 5'10 DB's can't cover anyone man-to-man.

If we sit back and do nothing, QB's dink and dunk us to death.

If we blitz a LB or Safety, we give up huge chunks.

What scheme works when you're down to your 4th string CB's?

Weren't we once told that Syracuse University is not in the business of firing people

Too Soon?! LOL

In all seriousness I don't think we would fire our defensive coordinator and honestly he probably deserves one more season

we blitzed all the time this year, but people keep saying we sat back in tampa 2.. dont people watch the plays

I’m not being critical of whether we blitzed or not and I like the Tampa 2 when done correctly. Is there a stats place to see how often we blitzed because in ACC play I wouldn’t characterize it as we blitzed all the time.

All you can see from the bad TV coverage is how few times we had safety help over the top. with some many teams in 3-4-5 wides we ended up with safety on WRs all the time. we sent Parris and Franklin a ton,, but the 2nd half of the year they never got home to make a difference.

All about the budget. If you’re going to open up the wallet, pay for a DC with significant experience, then go ahead.

If not, then stay the course. As others said, 75% if the season it was a much improved defense. They didn’t all just go to bed one night and forget how to coach and play defense.
