That's just not true. Some assistants are in charge of defense, some offense. If they need to discuss this, they take over, with the coaches blessing of course.

If you have played organized basketball or coached, you have certainly seen assistants more involved than ours have been the past couple years. Again, this could all be assumed from my seats in the bleachers, but it looks like they do nothing during games besides cheer or complain.
