There is no better QB on the roster than Hunt. Felt like 90% of the board was ready to get rid of him. Which is why no one here is a Division I coach.

How can you say that unequivocally? They all look equally bad to me for different reasons. Hunt and Kimble can run and can't throw. Wilson can't run but can throw hard. Long is accurate and looks like he should be able to run but really can't so far. There is no good choice at this point and not one of them is clearly better than any other.

Hunt took on the hardest part of the schedule. With McDonald as OC, who everyone thought was terrible. Is that his fault? Wilson can throw hard, but that doesn't make him a good QB. He looked absolutely awful. AJ turns the ball over too often. Kimble at least knew when to tuck and run and made some nice plays. We saw what Hunt could do last year with a pretty similar offense and this year had an even better defense. The injuries to the OL will screw any QB -- same with the WRs. But we saw what Hunt could do as a first-year starter, and anyone who wouldn't take that kind of performance right now is insane.

You know what, upstate, your avatar is classless. I've told you this before, but you seem to derive some perverse pleasure out of exacerbating a difficult personal situation for Matt Park every time you appear here.

I don't understand why any Orange fan would do this. Therefore, I'm not going to read the rest of your post, or any other post you throw up here, until you grow up.

Are you forgetting the historically bad games Hunt had last year? I'm not saying he is or isn't the best choice we have. I'm saying he's not OBVIOUSLY the best. All of our choices suck, so it's a weird point to try to prove right now.

Next spring is going to be interesting. My money is on Hunt but i wouldnt be surprised to see either Long or Wilson depending on the O that Lester goes with.

I don't see any possible way Wilson is a factor unless in a back up role. Hunt vs Long vs Edouard
If you plug Kimble, Long or Wilson into the QB spot vs. ND... Can you imagine them keeping it within 2 scores?

An upperclassmen QB is arguably slightly better than some freshman QBs who no one recruited.

Hooray!
Slightly better? Hunt saved last year's entire season. I'm sure you were hooting and hollering for Drew Allen, too. A Southern football player! Prayers answered!

Kimble is a good runner but can't throw. I would say by far the weakest arm on the team. That comeback route to Ishmael was awfull, barely got it there.

Wilson is a sitting duck and just wings it when under pressure.

Long looks to be the most accurate, but isn't nearly as mobile as I thought he was and is extremely small.

Hunt is extremely inaccurate and misses the easy throws but can make plays with his feet.

Combine the four of them and you have a serviceable ACC qb...

IGNORE.

We need to island of dr. Moreau Wilson and Kimble. Or move Mitch to strong safety.

AJ is simply not ready to play at this level, he may or may not ever be, but he should have been red shirted save for our injuries.
Hunt is the QB most ready to play at the start of the season and I still believe would have given us our best shot at wins, but he is out till further notice, and he is not a perfect QB. Those are very difficult for SU to recruit.
Kimble has been hampered by back problems, jury may still be out on him going forward has perhaps the best combo of run throw ability if he is healthy enough to practice effectively.(back problems will hamper anyone's throwing ability but may be healthy again after being forced in today wait and see), but not as bad a passer as some here are intimating.
Wilson can throw the ball, but is not very mobile and on this team that may be an absolute requirement.
Wish Edouard had stuck around this season, not so much to play this year, but for evaluation and prep for possible duty next year.
No QBs currently on our commit list for next year, and that about sums up our QB situation.

The guy who we couldn't score points with is definitely better than the other guys that we can't score points with?

Ummm, sure, ok, I guess? What does it even matter?

I was very disappointed with Hunt. We were told he had really improved - had picked up from where he left off last year. Well, actually not so much. Now, the question will be the same next year - has Hunt really improved as a passer? Sure has the best command of the offense but he should have. Can he pass - that is the question.

It seems as if Long has the greatest upside. He made rookie mistakes and was a turnover every 20 plays or so. However, that will improve with reps. Hunt was the same way.

At this point Wilson and Kimble have a lot of work to do.

Here's the deal - does :ester change the offense so that it favors one of these guys over the other? If I am Lester, I would go with the guy who takes care of the ball the best and that will probably be Hunt. We are going to look like BC I think.

with the amount of wr's we have on the roster were going to have to do some form of what we do now with the wrs

Regarding AJ, he will continue having turnover problems as long as he is 165 soaking wet, does not have the strength or endurance necessary. He should have been red shirted to attempt to build him up, but for our injury problems. I like him as a leader and he shows some promise but he must get much bigger and stronger to be effective in my opinion.
