Your laughable belief that his career is done and that it's racist.
wow... it is real?!!! crazy...
Honestly, if Frank Kaminsky said it - it absolutely delays if not ends his career.
Well, I do disagree about there being any racial component in this instance. It's a racial slur, but in this particular case, there was pretty obviously nothing to do with race in its use.well - that is racist. He said " THAT NI**A" in a derogatory manner.
It ruined an SU soccer player's life who was dating a black man.
So not thinking that was racist - is a racist thought. If Kaminsky said it, his career would be over.
It sucks to say, and its not PC. but it is what it is. anytime you use a negative word to talk negatively about another race - you are now racist.

But it'd be a white dude saying it about a black dude. In that case, yes, it's obviously racist. In this case, it's a black dude saying it about an opponent who happens to be white. It's a staggeringly common term used by the young black population. You don't have to like that, but it's a little foolish to think this was racially motivated. If Kaminsky said that I bet he would go to lottery pick to not drafted. I'm not trying to start any sort of race war but the double standard of race is disgusting... I'm sick of it.
Exactly. Spend an afternoon looking at social media, following ANY young black athletes. It's one of the most commonly used words you'll see.I'm a fan of common sense. Everyone knows how a large amount of young black kids use the word now. It's a noun used for everyone. And it wouldn't make any historical sense for a black kid to use that word towards a white kid In a racist way anyway.
Not saying I agree with it, nor do I particularly care. But that's just reality. No need to get dramatic and pile the "racist" mess on top when it obviously doesn't fit.
Inappropriate, dumb, and cowardly, no question...and that's wha he should take heat for.

Because the intent is dramatically different. And in the way Harrison was using it, it's basically like saying "m**********."I didn't say it was racially motivated, I should have elaborated more but it's ignorant for anybody to say, black, white, asian, latin, purple, green whatever. I just want to know why it's ok for the Harrison kid to call Kaminski that word but if Kaminski said it the world would have ended. Please tell me what Harrison meant when he said it if it wasn't meant to be harmful.

but can you end careers of people who say it, if that many black kids say it? and so easily call it racist when the white kids do?
You said when a white person says it, they are "obviously racist"... well... a Syracuse soccer player said it and is "obviously racist" and her career ended... except for the fact she was dating a black man and by most accounts (including someone on this forum who knew her dad really well) hung out with mainly black people. Yeah she sounds extremely racist. she must hate black people. She probably wants to join the KKK.
It is dumb. But it's still true. Intent plays a pretty massive role.so dumb

I agree he's a punk. 100%. But I think it's a pretty big reach for anyone to suggest it was racially motivated. He'd have used the same phrase about a black dude in the same context, I guarantee it.Okay. So after his team got his ass beat by the AP POY, Harrison's reaction was to say ". . . . that m***fu****."
Punk.
And that's factoring out the racial BS he interjected.

I don't know why we can't just stick with "a lot of black people use the word, but white people shouldn't" and leave it at that.
