I‘ve paid almost no attention but 7 of the top 8 and a 3rd.

So much for drama.

apologies if this has been discussed previously.

This whole season has not been terribly interesting but Ill admit that was heavily influenced by our own lack of success
First time in my life I missed at least half of our own games...let alone the tournament which I've not seen 1 second of.

It's just not fun without Syracuse in the conversation at all. Hope Red and company can turn this around despite the numerous red flags we've seen so far.

I’ve watched most of the games. The best teams are still playing. That’s the way it should be, but often doesn’t when you have single elimination games.

Even so, there have been some tough games that these teams have battled through.
The mid majors that have made runs usually are teams with older kids. Those kids are leaving for greener pastures now.

Sure. That makes sense. But things like 2008 do happen sometimes. And just in the last 2 years we’ve had runs from lower seeded teams.

I would think so. 2008 saw all four #1s advance to final four but Davidson, a #10, crashed the elite eight.

Hot take. Cinderella runs are only interesting for a few games. At this point in the tournament you want monster matchups
no, what about the year Florida Atlantic and San Diego St. made the F4, made it way more interesting until final weekend

I get that. Heavy weight matchups when they matter most are awesome. I like to see cindarellas though. And dunk city was as awesome as it gets.

The official mascot.

this is the future of the NCAAT in the age of NIL and the portal.
I think it's too soon to know that for sure. The portal started in 2018 and NIL started in 2021.

The 2023 Final Four consisted of 4/5/5/9 seeds. The 2024 Final Four consisted of 1/1/4/11.

I still think a 1/1/1/1 Final Four will be a rarity even in the age of portal/NIL. There is so much randomness in a 40 minute college basketball game.

Yeah, I would agree that an all 1 seed final four won't happen every year. However, the days of an 8 or 10 seed making it there is probably a once in decade kinda thing moving forward. Just look at the last handful of years. This was fun, watching high seeded programs be able to compete against the 1 and 2 seeds.

So who picked a “chalk” bracket? I picked three , with one minor upset - St. John’s. And that didn’t work out so well. In my pool, I win if Duke wins it. 2nd through 4th all have Auburn. Tough to root for either.
I saw some metric about previous winners that stated only FL, Auburn,, Duke and Auburn met that metric, so the winner was likely to come from that group. Guess that was right. Anyone see that? I’ll use it next year if I can find it again.
