Not much to say that hasn't been said. But...since we lost, I am in a perverse way glad to see that first loss handed to us by another former Big East team, and not any of the (self) anointed Tobacco Blue Bloods.

In terms of 70s sitcom theme songs, Syracuse has moved on up, to a deluxe apartment in the sky-y. There's a new team in town and they're looking GOOD.

Anyway, this team looks gassed, Cooney got the crap beat out of him on screens, and BC played the way they needed to, and with some passion. The target is off of our backs, and our late season swoon has arrived a little later than normal.

There's still some good basketball left to play, and there's still time for this team to decide how it wants to play it out.

Yeah, Carolina and Dook wining all those games, making all those tournaments, creating a great winning percentage, producing all those players and winning all those national championships had nothing to do with achieving "Blue Blood" status. Come on dude, you are better than this.

Trolling on a Syracuse board?

You are better than that as well.

In defense of the "traditional" ACC...Syracuse has only played 5 (of 13) conference games against ACC teams that didn't come over from the Big East, and 4 of those were at the Carrier Dome.

Yep. A-holeina has been on a real roll lately with Roy boy running the show. I just love seeing a bunch of newcomer Yankees taking the lunch money from and giving wedgies to those programs. It's fun to watch the fans of Douche- most of whom that I know are front-running tools- and Aholeina squirm when we don't enter the ACC with a thud like BC and VT did.

Syracuse is a blue blood too, for the reasons you outlined. The Carolina 4, and especially the big 2 have long been perceived as the elitist drivers of the conference. At least they've had the foresight thus far to shun dreary old Manhattan for their conference tourney, focusing instead on the bright lights and big stage of Greenberg. I hear they might even broadcast some of the tournament on Mr. Marconi's talking box as well!

MSG will come just be patient grasshopper. And maybe playing in Greensboro has helped some teams advance in the tourney since it is usually a NCAA tourney site. Helps to get your team familiar with the arena and floor. Ask Michigan State if they would have preferred playing us at Ford Field a second go round for the title after playing there for the ACC/Big10 challenge.
Anyway, love your team and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Dude, just a friendly response to smack about my alma mater. Did not say a mean thing about Cuse unlike the OP.

sadly, the loss probably cost SU the mythical Former Big East title. The Orange are now 9-1 this year vs. former BE teams, tied with Nova. Cincinnati is still undefeated at 6-0.

Fantastic win for UNC last night. That has to feel great, and it's always nice to see Douche lose a game anywhere, but especially at either the Dean Dome or now the Carrier Dome.

Of course, not that Duke fans need excuses, as they manufacture them with every breath, but they were looking ahead to Syracuse and of course now they'll be super motivated to win on Saturday.

You got it wrong. It was not a BE war, it was a Canadian struggle.

Quebec 20 - Ontario 14

To be fair, you could just as easily say that the only way BC can get a win is to play BE teams.
Their 3 conference wins?
VT, VT, and Syracuse

Further to that point:

BC's record against former BE teams: 3-3
BC's record against traditional ACC teams: 0-7

So there's that.

I can guarantee that Duke was not looking past the nation's best rivalry.

The ACC was two program. Two great, great programs.

The BE was loaded with teams that could win the conference, and nobody would bat an eye.

Meanwhile, Virginia probably wins the ACC reg season this year.
