Class of 2014 jaboree williams

Sounds like this guy has his head on right. Grab him. Would his position be LB or could they try him at Safety?

Shaf has an in-home with Jaboree and his mom Wednesday. Looking good here.

Whether it works in our favor or not, I really love the fact we are following up campus visits with an in-home visit with the HC the following week.

thats at least 2 so far, with Jaboree and Hudson. Really like the plan.

Also with the in-home scheduled we could probably tell the recruits that we don't want a commitment during the visit, but take home all the info and sit on things and talk things over with your family, and we will see you in a few days... No pressure. Like the methodology.

Have to follow up with in-homes this week to try and seal the deal as the Dead Period starts this weekend.

Just to reiterate:

He is a January enrollee

Dec 11: In home visit with Shafer
Dec 14: Campus visit to Pitt
Dec 16-Jan 15: NCAA dead period

So we should know by next week (if not sooner).

If he is a January Enrollee, doesn't his time table for commitment get bumped up? He can't sign by February or he misses the spring semester, so when is the Early Enrollee LOI date?

There isn't an LOI date. They just enroll.

Looks like he is going to wait and see who Wake hires.

He also spilled the beans on a possible serious injury for Arciniega. Can see now why we may be taking 6 LBers this class, and why we want him at the MIKE

Where did he say this?

What's your gut feeling where he lands

I haven't checked on the hiring status of a coach for Wake, but I'm not quite sure how he can still enroll in January if he is going to wait and see who Wake hires. Dead period starts on Monday and then Wake won't be able to have contact with him until mid January. How can you decide on a Coach and possibly all new coaching without meeting them first.

He also said that even though he can enroll early he will wait if he feels it's best for him.

I am sure Shafer will go for the commitment when he meets him this week. The staff is extremely high on him

@BFeldmanCBS: #WakeForest has offered Dave Clawson its head coaching job, source just told CBS.

Clawson is Bowling Green's coach originally from Youngstown.

Update:

@SIPeteThamel: SOURCE: Wake Forest has agreed in principle to make Bowling Green's Dave Clawson their next coach. http://t.co/Itx11VTiih

He has 6 days to contact Williams. Let's hope he coaches BG's bowl.

Williams won't rush a decision and will enroll in the fall if he has to

Wasn't he almost our OC under Marrone? Pretty funny that the Wake AD who just hired him is a Bowling Green alum.

Clawson is an offensive coach so hopefully this helps sway Jaboree's decision to play for a defensive guy like Shafer.

Hope so, but most coaches in this situation ditch their bowl game so they can keep recruits and build for their new teams. Otherwise, he would've just waited told them to wait two weeks to announce this.

Clawson's a nice get for Wake.

Agree, BK. He's going to bring that MAC style offense, spread attack that makes you account for multiple positions. Will be interesting to see if he can recruit there. IMO, it's the hardest part of that job. They're already playing 4th fiddle (5th sometimes) to best program in North Carolina. I've talked to some of my high school players that say rank UNC, State, Duke, and ECU above Wake in terms of popularity/where they want to play. The only following they have is pretty much people from Winston Salem.

I would say that even App has an easier time recruiting than Wake which I find hard to understand as there is plenty of talent right there in the Piedmont with programs like Northern Guilford and Dudley. I'm not sure if they just couldn't recruit, or as their alumni seem to complain about it is the academic requirements, or because they just have no name recognition in athletics.
