Saw that. Think this ones over. Kinda of angry they kept their recruit and we lost ours last year! How's a new coaching staff come in and creat comfort with a kid in one meeting? I get that he probably loves the school itself, but still there's gotta be a little trepidation, right??

That's recruiting... win some, lose some. I think that the timing just didn't work in our favor. If Wake had been a little slower at replacing Grobe and it had gone into the Dead period I think we would have had a better chance. Especially when Clawson starts replacing the current coaching staff.
 
Wait I see that Clawson has already started to bring in replacements. Looks like the new DC met with Jaboree.. Elko was the DC at BGSU.

A month makes a big difference, no doubt about it. We were still scrambling for coaches in mid January last year.
 
Sounds like Grobe communicated he was leaving awhile ago, and Wake had his replacement ready to go, hence a quick transition here re: recruiting, etc...

Maybe but the Wake AD I believe is also a BGSU grad so there might have been a "push" towards the door with Grobe.

Well that said we lost recruits to Miami and to Tennessee.

Allen decided on a school 2 hours from home and the new staff decided they didn't want the Rochester kid so they pulled his offer.which is why he went buttgers.

I agree. I don't see how a kid can go to a school and play for coaches he has no relationship with whatsoever and just met them today. He must really love that school and just doesn't care that much about football.
He said he was impressed by his visit and our coaches. I guess he just wasn't impressed enough.

I remember him being promised a RB shot at rutgers + the coaching change.

ya we didn't pull Carter's offer so we could recruit Malcolm Howard that's for sure
