That's why I'm excited for the bowl game. Assuming quite a few good players sit out (McCord/OG for starters) you get the competition of the young guys making their case for next season. It essentially starts with the bowl.
I have been down on bowl games lately. That’s a good mindset to take in to the games. Thanks.

That's how I look at it. It would be more fun if all the stars played. But they are all Syracuse players and you get a preview of next season. LeQuint showed what he could do when Tucker didn't play.

Seems like a good sign either way, but is he getting some or all of the 2nd team snaps?

If you dig into the roster the portal needs aren’t as big as they were last year. WR, DL, OL, RB is crowded and returns nearly everyone. You can always upgrade OL so a center and tackle are always on the table. As is a QB.

IMO we should upgrade the CB position and we badly need linebackers. Like Upperdeck just mentioned the right 3-5 portal kids in key spots is all we need.

At LB we lose Wax, (Diggs) and Barron, I assume a kid or two to the portal. We have 1 HS kid committed. I think we need a starting MLB out of the portal.
We have two glaring needs. A top-notch Center and some stud LBs

Center is one of the most underrated positions by the average fan. I think Belichick was a Center and TE at Wesleyan. Always thought it interesting that he was known as a defensive genius. Go figure.

This QB room is going to insane.
Jakhari Williams
Michael Johnson Jr

Malik Washington

A four-star quarterback 6'4" and 200 pounds. He visited Syracuse in June 2024 and is also considering Maryland, Virginia Tech, and UCF.

Luke Carney
A three-star quarterback is already committed to Syracuse's 2025 class.

Rich Belin
A three-star prospect who is the 14th best prospect in New York and 91st best quarterback prospect in the country. Belin has been training with former Syracuse quarterback Madei Williams since he was 10 years old.

Portal quarterbacks
Some quarterbacks who may be entering the portal include Thomas Castellanos of Boston College and Matthew Sluka of UNLV and Holy Cross. Don't think we will care about these guys.

Malik Washington is going to Maryland, no?

Castellanos and Sluka are horrible at throwing the football.

Malik Washington isn't coming here.

As I said, we won't have interest in those two (somebody will however).
Do we know that about Malik for sure?

I was just confused why you added them, we have 4 QBs, and don't appear to be pursuing any other options currently.

I thought we were going for that Rutgers decommit? Gavin something.

There is a rumor that Washington is thinking of pulling his commitment and doing some shopping, the alums are fed up with Locksley and are making their displeasure known to the administration. If Locksley goes the talk is Washington will too.

That may be the case but we're still not getting back in with the two kids we have committed.

Hope he did well long term as a person, but he wasn’t a P5 qb

I didn't think he was that bad and was shell shocked after being absolutely crushed right out of the gate.

I think Williams will have a better OL than Wilson and experience at RB and WR as well which will help if he does get to be QB1.

Clemson strategy only works if you get top 10 hs recruits.
Dabo doesn’t take any transfers at all. I think Fran will fill holes with portal kids as needed but suspect he’s getting out in front of the next elite portal QB chatter that will ramp up when portal season opens.
