Rak is showing some great post moves this year. KJ2 seems like a PG to me. Playing PG in division I for Syracuse University has it's own knowledge base! I think KJ2 is doing great and will continue to improve as the year goes on.

If you think that KJ is doing great, w have a different definition. He is playing very badly. He can't be trusted with the ball when it counts. He is out of control.

They're not a tournament quality team, their conference usually brings in 1 team with a really bad seed.

I'm not going to call a team good just because we played them. Sorry, Carlton isn't an NCAA title contender either, they'd be at the bottom half of the AAC or Big East if they were here. Every time we play somebody and win no matter how garbage the team is there are people coming around here trying to justify how good the team is or use it as reference on how good we are.

I agree, I expected more from them. I wasn't that impressed. They had 17 turnovers and a lot of them were unforced. They had stretches were they looked good, but overall just an average team...far from great as some here were saying.

I think all that winning in november/dec has gotten to our heads, and some of us are folding. Remember when the 06-07 dnic senior team loss 3-4 in nov and probably should have made the tournament still with a senior lead team who were maxing out on their potential. For crying out loud.

Dare I say yes the team probably needs a wake up call, but any giving up whether it be by the fans or coaches needs to be abandoned.

You can poke so many holes in this team. There are issues this team has that aren't going to get better no matter what we do. This team is missing a ton. At this point I would favor the 07-08 team over this one.

He's not a senior guard. As a freshmen, he's going to have a few bad games. I think as a freshment PG he's doing fine. I don't expect him to play like Triche or Scoop did their senior years. Tech played a very good game. We will have better games.

The goal of this year's team is still the same in my opinion. And that goal is to make the NCAA tournament. The win tonight did not hurt their chances. For this year's team every victory is a victory.

What coach in his right mind would ever say his team can't get better even if it is true? Who is our 2nd shooter going to be? Who is going to emerge as our back up pg? Who is going to emerge as the 7th man? Who fills in if/when Rak and McCollough get in foul trouble? Those are things that aren't happening. We still have to hope the team improves on ball security. Getting Joseph stable. Finding consistency in Cooney. Attention to detail. Defensive rotations etc, etc.

what the h are you talking about? You don't have to look at their record or their schedule. Just look at the team that was out there on the floor. A very good offensive team with a good shot blocker. Smith and Appleby would start for most p5 teams, and probably Kyser too. I'm certainly not trying to say they're great or that we should celebrate beating them by 2. But to call them crap is just flat out wrong.
Whether you want to believe it or not, we just beat a quality team.

They were careless with the ball, they took awful shots, the drove into Roberson and Rak numerous times not knowing what to do with the ball and may have had more stupid turnovers than we did. Add all that up with getting losing to two other crap teams and not one solid win on their resume, I'm sorry that I believe I'm safe calling them crap. How is being a realist make it clouds and rain? This team isn't good right now and he is ticked at their fundamentals and our own coach is telling us that.

My posts are not all negative. I have yet to quit on this team. I think they have a lot of growth in them. I just don't think the team syracuse played today was impressive. A good syracuse team is up 20 in that second half easily and scores against their passive press. They are better than the patriot league teams we would beat by 40. Cooney when moved to the ball handler dribbled right threw that press and people a week ago said he had no handle.
