After Joey Brackets. He added us as the fourth to last team.

Boeheim knows how to do media on this level. It's the local media that is his kryptonite.

Not his kryptonite. Playing man might be that. He just doesn’t care about anyone covering the beat less than ten years.

Honestly it shows that he knows better and just feels he is better than the local media. Hell maybe it’s true but it still comes off so poorly.
Some of the local’s questions are full on attack mode. The 5’2” guy basically accused him of tanking the season by not playing Jesse. That’s why Jab was pissed.
He has allowed great access to players, himself and practices over the decades, yet he often gets treated very poorly at home. I am sure a grudge is still held b/c of the Post Standard investigation.

Is it different than most any job. If you come in thinking you know more without earning it you get smacked down. Being a sports writer doesnt mean you have to know sports.

they aren't in attack mode. They ask questions that fans want answers to. And JB refuses to ever admit he made mistakes. The other day he day he said that he always knew Braswell could be a good player? Really? How come you never played him? We might end up in the right place but Jb has not had a jb year coaching this team. Braswell, Edwards (Eddy) and Kadray should all have played more and we all know it. Or Woody. None of us like to be reminded of our errors. But it is part of why he earns what he earns for doing what he does for a living. Jb is nicer to the national press because he can't bully them. He can't deny them access. They don't care. Here, he is the only game in town.

He respects the national media more. Jay Bilas might be the best color guy in the business. Greenburg is a two time coach of the year and a friend.
As I just wrote, he can't bully the national press and not give them access. We are just one team to them. The local guys need access.

Id agree with parts of this but I don’t agree that he made errors. I say that because we just don’t know that. He has far more information about all his players than we or the media does. If a guy gets in the game and does well it doesn’t mean that the coach had been wrong not to play him in some other circumstance. So I get him feeling a little attacked by unfair or uninformed judgements but he reacts in too strong of a way. He is the classic bully, in his little pond here he is vicious and merciless, with the bigger dogs he’s gracious.

He’s a HOF’er, but we might be a 5 or 6 seed had he played those guys in December. I usually think he gets every win possible out of the talent he has, but this year you can make an argument we really underachieved due to poor coaching early.

that’s just fantasy speculation. And if we are just guessing what will work, my money is on the HOF coach not fans or media.

It is fair to say that we aren't at practice and can't know what he sees in practice. But here is what we can know. In a fairly one sided game, he left Buddy in to play the 3, a position we all know that he can't play, while Braswell and woody sat on the bench. There was no justification on God's green earth for that. I won't even get in to the Joe G vs Kadray. And Jesse has shown that he is a asset on defense and there were games where we were just man handled under the basket. I give every coach the benefit because as you said, they are at practice and I'm not. But there are cases where things are self evident.

Braswell has been dealing with injuries every year and had to medically red shirt. That could be why JB knows he is talented but got limited playing time until recenty.

You have to remember we had three COVID stoppages. That has a definite effect on practice time and team development. Jessie also arrived to SU late and then had to quarantine and still deal with COVID delays. Not conducive to developing young players.

It is. But is is not fantasy speculation that right now, with Jesse and Braswell playing, we are better than we have been all year. Right now, this is the best we have played all year. I think it is a tougher bet that we wouldn't have been better if they played earlier than if they did.

Well nobody does know but what we do know is that those players looked awfully good when given a chance and yet again we sit here sweating out another Selection Sunday with our coach that according to many can not ever be questioned about anything.

And Jesse got no off season development with our assistants.

Its basically the same thing that happened in 2017. I’ll give him some benefit of doubt because of covid and the lack of organized summer practices because I do think he went with guys he trusted because he didn’t see them enough in the off-season.

I will say the same thing I’ve said about other coaches at SU over the years. I may question an in game tactical decision, but I won’t go too hard about strategic decisions and just assume I don’t have all the information or not enough.
