You can't even keep track of your own dumb argument. You said revenue AND expenses, so I included both (I just forgot Kansas). But go ahead, just include revenue. Your point is even worse that way.

We are the 6th most profitable team.
That includes profit which includes expenses.

How much of that is at least partially the result of seating capacity rather than quality of product?
  • 1. Carrier Dome, Syracuse — 34,616 seats
  • 2. Rupp Arena, Kentucky — 23,000 seats
  • 3. KFC Yum! Center, Louisville — 22,090 seats
  • 4. Dean Smith Center, North Carolina — 21,750 seats
  • 5. Thompson-Boling Arena, Tennessee — 21,678 seats
  • 6. Capital One Arena, Georgetown — 20,356 seats
  • 7. Madison Square Garden, St. John's — 19,812 seats
  • 8. PNC Arena, NC State — 19,722 seats
  • 9. The Schottenstein Center, Ohio State — 19,500 seats
Louisville makes more than us because they have expensive suites.
Those suites are more profitable than our capacity and higher annual attendance.

Duke plays in a bandbox. They are more profitable than us because they sell courtside seats for rich donors very very very expensively and have donors.

Sure bud. Take a gander at expenses as well amd let me know who is ahead on a yearly basis.

I did, dingbat. That was the post you had an issue with for "wonky numbers." Do you want to look at expenses, revenue, profitability? It doesn't matter. Your point falls apart either way.

You seem angry. Have a snickers.
Uhm, it was (clearly I thought) a self-referential joke. I can't remember ever being angry about anything on a message board in my life.

Wish I had a boss that was like some of these true believers in being so happy in accepting mediocrity and staunchly defending it.

Is your boss dumb enough to think being in the top 20% of something is mediocrity?

I would assume so if he was spending in the top 2% of that same something.

Well it seems that you are pretty happy with how things are going. Must enjoy the excitement of wondering whether or not we make the tournament. I'd prefer to be excited about which region we are in and our matchups as a top 3 or 4 seed like we used to be.

Oh. Well then your boss would be an idiot for thinking basketball expenditures lead to greater winning percentage. That's not how college sports works.

The fact that you don't understand that college basketball parity has changed in the past decade makes you unqualified to talk on this subject. But keep going if you want.

Hey, I know what a fun topic would be. What percentage of schools in the "top 2%" made the tourney this year? (Hint: You don't want to know if you want to keep stumbling your way around arguing this dumb point.)
