Again. Not true.I’m still gonna disagree with the last recruiting cycle. He was everywhere and people on the recruiting board made note of it.

LOL you're going to take the word from a guy who has directly benefited from Boeheim's demise on whether he is working hard at recruiting? LOL. Come on now. This past December.
“It’s not just that he’s still going, it’s the way that he does it,” Wright, 59, said of Boeheim. “I wish people would know how hard he works in recruiting. You see him at all the events, you see him out all the time at games, seeing guys play.”
“It’s always kind of motivating to me. At his age, if he’s still doing it like this, he ‘s till working hard, we’ve gotta keep going to keep up with him. .That’s really the way you look at it, you gotta try to keep up with him.”
SMH No one is saying that JB never goes to an event. What anyone without an agenda is saying is that our Head Coach is being outworked on the recruiting road. And quite frankly, that isn't just the thinking from outside the basketball team. You want to site that he made more of an effort last year. He did. But it wasn't what other Head coaches were doing. And once the season started, it's non existent. We are being outworked. And it shows. And not for nothing, I was at school when Jb wasn't ever outworked. When the season was over, he got in his car and he was on the road. I remember he even went to Sam Perkins presser to say he was going to North Carolina. He needs to be on the road during the season. That is big to kids. And our ass'ts are out gunned.
Does he not realize that his kids are two of the main reasons the defense was terrible? I think part of the frustration is that he is always open and honest about all the other players on the team's flaws are but never with his kids. Yes, his kids can play offense but they were invisible on the other end of the floor and a major part of the reason we were so bad on defense.
Again. Not true.
I think he does. Even so, Jimmy and Buddy played better than most people expected, including him, which was his point. People who expect him to go out of his way to say his kids are weak defensively in an interview like this are delusional.
I get that it's ridiculous for him to go to press conferences and call out every other player for their defense except his kids. This wasn't that kind of opportunity.
This is hysterical.Yes-At the very beginning at about 1:09-check it out if you don't believe.

Good griefWell you said they told you they never see JB
Do you believe Jim Boeheim is successfully recruiting kids at the level that is needed to be a Top 25 program?Well you said they told you they never see JB
He didn’t call out anyone individually for their defense that I heard.
There is a third type of dad although rare. The dad that supports their kid, cheers for them, cheers for the team, let the coach’s do their job, can subjectively evaluate their kids play and speak frankly about it to their kid and others.Of course he doesn't.
As others have mentioned, there are really two types of dads where kids are concerned and competitive sports... The dad who's doubly hard on their kid to be the best and likely downplays how good the kid actually is in an effort to keep them motivated and humble... and dads that think their kid is the best no matter what and that any failings lie with the teammates, coaching, etc. - anything but their kid.
We actually saw one of those latter dads here regarding a certain former quarterback who will be playing elsewhere next year.
We also have a similar dad coaching our men's basketball team... only, in his case, coaching can't be to blame either, LOL... so you know who's fault it is.
Well you added no context and comment, JB added plenty lol1:09:30 confirmed-
Our team wasn't good and my kids were good. They both played better than I expected ever to play".
Followed that by mentioning "losing our center during a 4 game winning streak".
No added context.
Considering we haven’t been rankrd since November 2019 and it was preseason ranked the answer is clear.Do you believe Jim Boeheim is successfully recruiting kids at the level that is needed to be a Top 25 program?
If yes, just wow.
If not, please give me your top 3 reasons why he is not successfully recruiting the kids needed to be a Top 25 program.
who is HB? I'm guessing you might JB and that was a typo. There is no doubt assistants go to more games than the HC, with every program. But I know for a fact that JB was all over recruiting the last cycle. Many big events were streamed or on live TV and JB was always there it seemed. Sometimes alone, sometimes with GMac, sometimes with Red, sometimes the whole staff. We made numerous comments on the recruiting board. And I’m sure some were there, but I don’t remember noticing every ACC coach there. HB and Scheyer were the two most noticeable usually. Maybe they just got seats in front of the camera.
The answer is clear to the vast majority.Considering we haven’t been rankrd since November 2019 and it was preseason ranked the answer is clear.
We won’t have a player on the roster next year who will have played a Syracuse game as a ranked team.
JB’s recruiting efforts have been subpar since Hopkins left.
One offseason last year isn’t enough. We didn’t a recruit a single HS guard in 2021 class. 2020 all transfered.
It’s clear we need a change in how we do things. It’s too bad we can’t get any changes the status quo clearly isn’t working.
To be fair, that’s kinda how I read that. When he says “my kids” I take it to mean the entire team, not specifically JB3/Buddy. We had good players individually, but as a team not so much. Something along the lines of where the Lakers are right now and please, don’t let someone pipe up with “they aren’t the Lakers”.You can have individually good players and still a bad team. Is he wrong that we were bad on defense? Is he wrong that Buddy was good this year? Nope.
Heartbroken? My god I hope he didn’t say that….if true then I am heartbroken that he could be that cold
This is hysterical.
"We lost 4 games by 1-2 points out of our last 10."
If you don't do your research, you'd probably believe him.
We lost 0 games by 1-2 points in our last 10.
In fact, we lost 1 game in our last 10 by less than 9 points (Miami).
9, 3, 9 (OT), 25, 10, 12 were the margins of our last 6 losses.
"JB says things" really should be the new mantra around here. Unreal.
And considering how many resources this staff has, he should be out all the time. The ease of flying private and making multiple stops to see kids is what makes Cal and some others who they are as recruiters. And I don’t want to hear that the staff doesn’t have access to this. The athletic department has a deal with Wheels Up and other privately owned jets at their disposal. It just doesn’t happen and I don’t know why...yep. Your argument is that he was better this year. He was. During the summer. Just not good enough ( the results also tell you that). But once the fall came, he stayed in Syracuse. Other head coaches still hit the road. JB used to.
May be JB is grounded by Julie, worried that if he flys all over recruiting on private jets, he would have to take recruits out to parties and strip clubs and JB will be Rick Pitino 2.0.And considering how many resources this staff has, he should be out all the time. The ease of flying private and making multiple stops to see kids is what makes Cal and some others who they are as recruiters. And I don’t want to hear that the staff doesn’t have access to this. The athletic department has a deal with Wheels Up and other privately owned jets at their disposal. It just doesn’t happen and I don’t know why...
They asked him about coaching his sons and the team, so I do think his kids in this context are Jimmy and Buddy, exceeding his expectation. Team is bad.To be fair, that’s kinda how I read that. When he says “my kids” I take it to mean the entire team, not specifically JB3/Buddy. We had good players individually, but as a team not so much. Something along the lines of where the Lakers are right now and please, don’t let someone pipe up with “they aren’t the Lakers”.
lol...
We should be concerned that JB hasn't really proved that capable of identifying the significant issues with this team...he still seems to think if we just had a better version of Edwards that could cover the corner three like a wildman we'd go undefeated!
