JJ is the only ACC level player on the roster

Maybe Freeman can get there

Bell is useless if he’s not shooting 50% from three
Eh, I don’t think it’s a question of ‘ACC Level’ because I think most of these guys could fill some sort of role on a lot of acc rosters. It’s more a question of the role.

Like there’s a pretty good chance bell will lead this team in scoring, but is he a player that should be playing that many minutes and playing that large a role? Probably not.

You could go through every single player and say that. There may be some guys who shouldn’t be in the ACC near the end of the roster, but most are just miscast in roles far bigger than they should be.

Lampkin averaged 7 boards a game in a tough conference last season. He can rebound even against tougher competition. He can have an impact on offense against tougher competition too. Anyone who watched March madness last year can see that. It’s the rim protection/help defense that is the problem. But he is actually making up for his defense on the other end, something I can not say for guys like Carlos and Bell. Yes the comp will get tougher, but it will get tougher for everyone else too! Why can’t everyone else put up major stats against this weak comp? Lampkin is literally the least of our concerns right now. And he actually has a freaking pulse out there.

I will wait until we play team with P4 athletes to see who can and who can't play at this level.

Bringing Bell back looks like a not so great outcome. We needed a better PG, by a long mile and a much better option at SF.

Have you see him when we don't have the ball? Most of those defensive breakdowns were just as much him as it was our awful defensive guards. That's why these low quality teams score on ease on us. Lampkins awful. Did it against them without their center for a majority of the game.
But why was their center out? Lampkin

I don't like giving predictions on records because there are just too many variables, but this is easily the worst team I've watched in Orange with my eyes.
This is the worst SU team in more than 50 years.
Pre-Boeheim as head coach.
And back before the Final Four team of '74-'75.
In terms of talent and being able to play the game.

But still undefeated . Keep moving goal posts. You left out one fact the previous coach refused to recruit

Eddie was probably the 5th best player on 10 seed Colorado last year. He wasn’t even a top 5 player on a 20-19 TCU team the year prior.

He’s been an average P5 player at best his whole career but here he is clearly one of our most important players.

Not a very good sign

Hopefully, we are just playing down to the competition but will step it up as the competition gets better.

Yep. People here get weirdly hung up on the whole “is he an ACC player?” thing.

Like, “is Buddy an ACC player?!”. Of course he was. He always was. He just shouldn’t have been playing the minutes he did for much of his career.

We have a roster full of “ACC players”. What we don’t know is if they’re starter type players, 8 man rotation players, or back of the bench players.

Eeking out 3 games against low tier competition gives me some clues. But we’ll know for sure soon.

Two years ago we were really really bad, and we had no depth. I still have more hope for this year's team compared to that one. We started out 3-4, with a loss to Bryant where Judah got ejected for slapping Doug Edert in the face. Benny Williams was one of our 5 best players. So was Freshman Chris Bell. I'm not ready to concede that we are worse than that team.
