I’ve been harder on JJ than anyone.
He kept his FGAs down and played within himself. Keeps that up, great.
His FTs prob mean he can’t be in at the end of the game.
I do not think he should start.
But the dude attacked the rim and his three was within the system.

It's really the most bizarre case of the yips I've ever seen. Not good.

He was playing well within himself, moving the ball around, and after the first two possessions his defense was better. Then the free throws happened...

He didn’t shoot like that last year. What’s with that little hitch? He disrupts all the fluidity you should have taking a free throw. Whoever taught him that needs to be sent home. It’s like how the staff ruined Trevor Cooney’s shooting form. He had a fluid stroke in HS. By his senior year here, he had a hitch.

But like you say, attacking the rim is his game…and he can’t shoot free throws. Or shoot threes efficiently so…

I get it. Believe me. But if you were to tell me he’s taking 5 or 6 FGAs a game off the bench, I’m good with him.
Starting and being in at the end of games, I don’t agree with.
I am with you on his limitations and natural contradictions.
And you can take a look at my posting history. Not sure many posters have been harder on him than I have.

Never seen anyone miss a FT to the side of the rim - I have seen short which he accomplished also

I'm scared to press rewind. Not sure if I can take watching it again. Burn the disc, break into Hulu and ruin the dvr server for this game, have to do what it takes so no one can ever see this game again.
I'm kidding mostly about JJ and am a big fan of him and the team, but this game was not a basketball game. Closer to a Chuck Knoblauch pitching at his yip pinnacle in a Yankee old timers softball game.
