Clinically, no (I realize you didn't mean it literally). But, I do agree that all the losing - he has lost 17 of the last 20 - has negatively impacted his identity of who he thought he was as a coach. He now seems overwhelmed by all the losing, is likely questioning his ability, and is making things worse by making out of character in game decisions. I feel bad for Dino.
IF Marrone were to even consider coming back - I think that is unlikely - he would demand complete autonomy with the entire program, including all hiring decisions. I'm not saying that White should not be considered (he has proven himself), just that the decision would be Marrones.
He didn't have his own guy as DC the first time around. I would think that Marrone would watch film on the team and then interview the assistants. If he thought they were worthy he would keep them.
Doug likes to win, and if he felt that The defense under White would help him win, he would try to keep him.

His overall record is 52-25 & he is a northeast guy but lets keep the guy who is 29-43...I think people just want to try something different at this point
