Legendary.
You Said It Best! Absolutely Incredible!!!
Legendary.
That's as impressive a shooting performance as you'll ever see at any level. He clearly sold his soul to the devil.
I can't imagine that's ever been done before.43 points on 13 shots. That's ... I don't know that there's an adjective to describe it. Unreal.
To be fair, on one of those plays Howard gave the ball to Gillon with like 5 on the clock after doing nothing with it for the previous 15.... The best defense they played on him tonight was when they made him drive with little time on the shot clock two possessions in a row. He couldn't make shots (wild shots at that) either time, and we turned it over on shot-clock violations...

He doesn't have to make shots under the rim as long as he can draw fouls while driving and ice the freebies, which he does. all he needs is a little floater.Agreed, which played right into what a defense should want us to do as much as possible.
Gillon has shown he isn't able to consistently create his own scoring on drives. Defenses should be putting him into that situation as much as they possibly can. Not forcing him to have to create his own scoring off the bounce is bad defensive strategy.
I'm happy that Hamilton and Gottfried never figured that out.
Kid has some Flynn in him - small in stature but heart of a lion
The beauty of this is that the . . . . . NC State kid who made the three (Rowan ?) was shooting arrows at the SU bench all night when he made shots.
Suck it tool. You lose.
He could have tried to get an open shot. For himself or for a teammate. Clearly, he was going to dribble out the clock and launch it, no matter what, no matter where. Turned out to be a good choice but if it hadn't gone in, there'd be plenty of room for 2nd guessing. What should he have done? White walked up right beside him with a defender, nobody else was moving and he took the best shot he could have with the spacing he had. Watch the play again.

Noticed that too - I thought when they got up 13 to 16, he and Smith, both started going for style points a little too much. They weren't turning it over, just seemed to be more concerned with themselves and how awesome they were than putting the game away...
Gillon's shot at end of regulation saved the season...for now at least.
