Johntay Cook in the portal

I know what you’re talking about but these are 18-21 year olds. It happens everywhere. The last 8 games were extremely frustrating. I can’t imagine what the kids that put their entire time into this must have felt. Add in the stress to make it to the league, or earn NIL $ through play. Im tired o18-21 kids. I’m sure weren’t in a good psychological space.
I’m tired of the 18-21 year old kids excuse. They are being paid six figures to play a game, the have agents, advisers etc. speak the truth money is the deal. SU. Michigan.Georgia whoever it’s all about the money. It’s about nothing else. Five years aga Fran might have built a dynasty here, with this budget I wish him luck. It’s like getting into a $100.00/$200.0” poker game with $50.00 it don’t work.

yea for sure
I believe every player is evaluated and during last season very few will be overpaid unless you graded out above average. And he certainly did not. He had massive drops when Steve went out then psycho family member began talking publicly. Not a good look, Seems like a nice kid who we gave a chance and I am glad he seems to be on the right track. Definitely next, Gill definitely a bigger loss in my opinion. I believe they are going to spend on multiplicity and that is going to take a strong set of lines. We will see

Ok. this sucks we lost Gill and Cook 2 probable starters within 4 days of each other and now a total of 5 Wr's to the portal and JRS. has graduated to make -6 Wr's gone from last year's roster. We return 7 who have little to no exp. and we bring in 5 true Fr. and a JUCO. 13 total and maybe D. Samuel can help out a bit ? Looks like we will need to at least bring in at least 3 talented Wr's via portal, and who knows maybe Ross or Hornsby decide to return.

Nothing but bad things happen at su these days.
Look at Indiana the past two years, it started with mindset and it will end with that. The first thing CG stated when he got there was to change the mindset certainly on the team but also the fan base but most importantly the team thankfully. That will definitely start with the coach we will see, staff included.

We had like 16 WR at the end of the season
Which brings us down to ten
Top two players in our recruiting class our 5 Star Calvin Russell (3rd highest rated recruit since they started the recruiting rankings), Gough who is a solid 4 star and can fill in at the slot, and JUCO Merriweather AND a few others that can play WR
We we are basically at 14-15 again
Portal in 1-2 WR and we are solid again

It's every post. You really need a second note. I get that this season was great for you. Last year, not so much. As I wrote, this recruiting class, this past one, 2026, was the best recruiting class we have had in well over 30 years. Now, what you don't know, even though a number of us have written that we know for certain, Fran told two of the really three guys that left, get out. They wanted to stay. Fran, for reasons other than football, decided that it was better for the program for them to leave. Contrary to what you have stated it wasn't that they stopped buying what he was selling but rather they didn't behave in a manner that reflected well on the school or the team.
I forgot Fran asked them to leave. My apologies

Hopefully fran is our cignetti but he has a ton of work to do.

Not surprised at all since Syracuse has no quarterback. Quit literally no quarterback. Too bad, he was far and away Syracuse's best offensive skill player.

Concerning that we'll basically have all new receivers with Steve getting zero real reps with them for a while. This sucks
Looks like Steve is doing some throwing now.

How many times do people have to flat out say that he was told to go before people believe it? It's not the QB. It's not $$. Posters with impeccable reputations for sharing what they can have said as much.

Seems like every time a guy leaves, someone “heard” they were asked to leave, or they were a bad guy in the locker room or some such story. Maybe, or maybe just sour grapes for program apologists. Or we shouldn’t be recruiting such bad guys in the first place.
Here's some unsolicited advice, learn who "hears" things from people to listen to. Then shut the hell up.

This is not true. Gill and several others chose to leave, SU did not ask them to and we have certainly lost several guys we would have wanted to stay.

Two things:
1. I don’t think anyone has suggested Gill was asked to leave.
2. I don’t think anyone has called either a bad guy. There’s a difference between a guy being kicked off the team for something and parting ways at the end of the season being better for the overall team in the future. We see 12 Saturdays a year. Coaches see hundreds of days a year.
